I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience booking the £129 “mystery holiday.” Initially, I was informed that the destination would be Spain, which was acceptable. However, the following day I was contacted and told that Spain was no longer available, and the destination had been changed to France.
While I understand the concept of a “mystery holiday,” this change came with an unexpected additional cost of £179 per person, on top of the original £129. This significantly increased the total price to over £400, which I do not believe represents good value—especially as the same trip could likely be booked independently for less without involving a third party.
I contacted the travel company to request either a refund or an alternative destination, as I was not willing to pay the increased cost for a location I had not agreed to. Unfortunately, this was not resolved to my satisfaction.
Overall, I would not recommend this deal. The lack of transparency and unexpected additional costs made this a disappointing and frustrating experience.
