I saw a promotion for 12 months of Spotify Premium for £23.99, and it said I’d receive the information via email. I signed up, and I received the username and password for an Outlook account set up by a person in India. This person then paid for a Spotify Premium subscription in India, as it was currently on offer in India. The Spotify username and password had then been sent to this email. I had someone’s name and date of birth in India! You can’t change the region, as that will stop the subscription, which means that not all music is available. I’ve reached out to Wowcher and keep getting the same computer-generated responses that the merchant is refusing my refund. I’ve raised this with Spotify and Outlook, and I just want my money back as I don’t feel this is correct, and I shouldn’t have someone else’s details, and they shouldn’t have created an Outlook email account for me. They tell me not to change the details for this account. Which means they can access it at any time. This seems fraudulent to me. Wowcher shouldn’t be allowing someone to pay for subscriptions in their own country and then sell them on to other people to make a profit.
