I am absolutely shocked that Wowcher continues to advertise and partner with Travelodeal, an outright unethical and manipulative company. I purchased a Wowcher mystery holiday for two people at £129 each, and what should have been a fun, exciting experience quickly turned into a nightmare of pressure selling, deception, and data abuse. When I contacted Travelodeal to redeem my voucher, I was bullied into paying an extra £366, with the agent falsely claiming it was the only option available. This was completely untrue - I later found the same flights and hotel online for hundreds less!To make matters worse, they even asked for my Ryanair login details - a massive red flag and blatant breach of privacy. When I refused, they went ahead and booked flights without my consent, choosing awful middle-of-the-night times that I never approved. After checking prices, I discovered I’d been overcharged by £218.04 for accommodation, and that Travelodeal’s total price was £183.96 more than booking directly myself. In total, I lost hundreds due to misleading and unethical practices that Wowcher is directly enabling by promoting this “partner.”It’s disgraceful that Wowcher would lend its name to a scam like this. As a customer, I trusted Wowcher’s platform - but after this ordeal, I will never use it again. It’s clear they don’t vet their suppliers, don’t care about customer rights, and are happy to profit from exploitative middlemen like Travelodeal.I’ve filed formal complaints with Trading Standards and the ICO, and I’ll be pursuing this matter through the small claims court if necessary. Until Wowcher takes accountability and cuts ties with Travelodeal, I strongly urge everyone to stay far away from these “deals” - they’re nothing but traps disguised as bargains.
