Went to David Hayton Mazda Southport to carry out warranty work on my 17 month old Mazda Mx5rf bought from new. Water was getting into car from somewhere. They rang me to say they wouldnt do the work as the drivers seat had possibly been out??? They made this assumption on basis of a bolt under seat was slightly rough??? They also said 2 plastic caps had popped off from fabric panel at back of seat??? How this effected water getting into car, no idea! They said they wouldnt do under warranty, but it would be £130 an hour labour for them to do it! I was fuming! I bought the car new, under warranty, only been to Mazda dealer for a service previously. I think they must have done this as they didnt want to be bothered with work. It was only when I got home and calmed down I knew they were lying. I had previously hoovered car and the plastic caps would have been sucked up if loose on floor. I had also mopped out water from cabin floor and no loose caps then. They are a disgrace and not to be trusted. I wouldnt go there again. If you bought a new house and roof was leaking and builder said not my issue there is a bolt that is a bit rough on the front door so its your problem. Same scenario. Dont go there if you dont want to be taken a ride .
