Stupidly ordered a headboard from La RedoutePaid for delivery only to find out it might take 14 days. After 14 days it still hadn’t arrived so contacted them to warn that I was going on holiday and not to deliver while I was away.Was told the supplier had been informed and would be in touch, which they weren’t. After much pestering, the supplier’s delivery partner got in touch to say they would deliver while I was on holiday. I arranged for delivery after my return.Delivery was instead attempted while I was on holiday and the item was dumped next to bins at the back of the house in the pouring rain. The package stated on it that it should not be delivered without signature!On my return I found a smelly damp package with condensation inside and the headboard had also been shipped with a faulty bed post. To make matters worse I researched the supplier and discovered that shipping was free from them and the item was £50 cheaper than La Redoute advertised.I then received an email telling me that my item would definitely be shipped a day after my desired date. They don’t even know if an item has already been delivered or not!All in all feeling ripped off, messed around and generally treated badly. Poor customer service, dreadful shipping process and a ripoff.La Redoute is just a very bad drop-shipper of dodgy companies’ products with poor customer service. Do not use them, just go straight to a reputable manufacturer instead and deal with them directly.
