INCOMPETENT BULLIES

I've always been wary of/unimpressed by the SSPCA and after the way they have treated a good friend of mine I now have nothing but contempt for them. During COVID and whilst my pal actually had covid there was an incident from which they and their child were lucky to escape unhurt/alive. Distressingly a number of animals did die. The conduct of the so called inspector was most unprofessional, there were lies, over reach of powers and inadequate investigation. It seems that they thought my friend, who has a number of health/personal issues would just roll over and give them an easy win. Fortunately this friend is made of sterner stuff and has a good support network. Plus we had contacts and secured the services of a legal aid solicitor with experience defending against the SSPCA. After a number of very stressful months their prosecution case was dropped by the PF due to the case being poor: their evidence was conflicting amongst other things They were not worthy of the title inspector as this gives the impression that they have adequate training, intelligence, integrity and authority when in a lot of cases it would seem they don't. I know that real Inspectors (Police & others) have to have a degree to apply, pass a rigourous selection process, gain a post grad diploma, have a lot of in house training & supervision, a fair amount of legal trainng and pass a 2 year probation. I would argue that their applicants for jobs are well meaning but on the whole less well educated, that the selection criteria inadequate/lacking and that their training especially re the law leaves a lot to be desired. That is not to say that a person with few formal qualifications could not be trained to do the job properly. The Police have standards they are supposed to meet and a regulator to make sure they do. Who performs that role for the SSPCA, where are their standards? It is a sad state of affairs that I do not feel it is safe, for my friend, for me to give more specifics of all that happened. I am genuinely fearful that the SSPCA will be vindictive towards them and target them, ie continue the bullying.
