I don’t usually write reviews like this, but my experience with Xfinity has been so frustrating that I feel I need to share it, so others don’t end up in the same situation.

I signed up for the Xfinity NOW plan on March 28 because I needed WiFi urgently to continue working from home. When the device delivery was delayed, I decided to go to a physical store to speed things up.

That was where things started going wrong.

At the store, I was convinced to upgrade my plan and even switch my mobile line to Xfinity as part of a bundle. I was told very clearly that:
• My WiFi would be set up immediately
• I would have unlimited hotspot access in the meantime
• Everything would be smooth and fast

It sounded reasonable, so I trusted them.

However, to proceed, I had to give up my existing mobile plan — which I had already paid 8 months upfront. Once I switched, there was no way to recover that.

After everything was signed, I was then told that my location doesn’t even have the proper wiring for installation.

So all the promises about “immediate setup” were simply not true.

They scheduled a technician to come on April 2. I waited several days without proper internet, thinking at least the issue would finally be resolved.

The technician came, checked briefly, confirmed there was no wiring — and then left without doing anything. No solution, no escalation, no follow-up. The attitude was also very dismissive, which made the experience even worse.

I followed up again and was given another appointment on April 4 (9–11am). No one showed up.

I went back to the store in person. The manager helped reschedule for 2–4pm the same day.

Again, no one showed up.

At this point, I am stuck in a situation I never expected:
• I still have no WiFi service
• I have lost 8 months of prepaid mobile service that I can’t recover
• I am tied into a bundle that only makes financial sense if the service actually works
• And despite multiple follow-ups, there is still no resolution

What frustrates me the most is not just the delays — it’s the fact that I was convinced to make irreversible decisions based on promises that were not accurate.

If I had been told upfront that my location was not ready for installation, I would never have switched my mobile plan or upgraded anything.
