oufoodz started off really well for us. Most of the meals are genuinely good — they can get a bit repetitive, but they’re quick, easy, and convenient. It’s been great not having to think about what to cook; you just pick a meal and microwave it.
However, we’ve had a few issues along the way. A couple of boxes in the past arrived with problems, and this week we had a box that didn’t arrive at all. The tracking only showed “On Hold” with no further updates. I had to use the online Contact Us form — which kept timing out and was quite frustrating — before finally getting through, only to be told the box was damaged in transit and we’d be refunded. There was no automatic text or email notification, and no offer to resend the box. If I hadn’t followed up myself, we probably would still be waiting.
There was also “premium recipe” fee, for $1.99, but that has not been mentioned as being refunded. It’s a small amount, but it should still be addressed.
We previously had a meal blow out in one of our boxes and were told we’d receive a deduction on a future box after our promotion ended, but I don’t recall ever seeing that applied.
Overall, I’m starting to get disappointed. The convenience is good, but these issues add up — and the meals are now often more expensive than buying something similar at our local shops. There’s really no reason to continue deliveries when the same meals are cheaper in stores — especially with regular specials.
For now, we’ve decided to try another meal delivery service.
