I bought this item from Youshiko's official eBay site on December 19th 2024. I installed new Duracell batteries in the main display and in the outside sensor. I'd previously read a review from another customer about the manufacturer's response to an issue with the outside sensor. Bearing this in mind I left the outside sensor inside, next to the display, whilst I manufactured a weather proof cover for the unit before mounting it on a north east facing wall between xmas and new year. The unit pretty much immediately reported the outside weather but then went blank when we had a bit of colder weather. After a day or two it came back on but then stopped again within a week. I wrote to Youshiko explaining the situation. They advised me to replace the batteries and to re-initiate both devices. I responded letting them know that the device settings must be OK and that the batteries were working correctly because everything worked as it should.I took photo's of the display unit showing a blank from the outside sensor. I took a photo of the sensor in it's protective housing showing that the outside sensor is displaying the weather details. I then brought the sensor in and left it next to the display. I took another photo of the device next to the display unit and then again 50 minutes later. During that time the outdoor sensor failed to show up on the main display.I suggested that they send a couple of replacement outdoor sensors but Youshiko wrote to tell me that the problem was due to interference. That seems unlikely as the outdoor sensor was immediately adjacent to the main unit. When I went to pack the device to return it I noticed that the display was now showing the details from the remote sensor. As part of my return I supplied Youshiko with the photo's which show everything that I have described above. The photo's show the time on the display so there could be no question about the accuracy of my description of the issue.Because of this device behaviour, with the unit only about 3-4 weeks old, I returned it to the supplier.Youshiko chose to withold 50% of the purchase price because I did not return it in its original packaging. It was that MEAN action which prompted me to make this review. If an item isn't working correctly then I do not expect to be penalised because I did not retain the original packaging. The manufacturer said that the item was working and the lack of packing meant that they could not re-sell it. That shocked me. I know that the item is faulty, I provided unrefutable evidence. That they would consider reselling it really concerned me. They said that they could only use it for spares... hmmmmmThe product looked nice and the features were great but if it doesn't work and if the supplier tries to fob you off with ridiculous responses then there can be no trust.Based on my experience I would not have anything further to do with Youshiko in the future.[UPDATE 17/1/2025]The seller seems to think that if I buy something through eBay then I somehow relinquish my rights to report my experience on trust pilot. Their email to me is shown in full below..."Dear Sir , It has been noted you have written a review on trust pilot , We are eBay team here and our website team asked you to write to you .
