I recently purchased a Professional 5-1 Weather station from Youshiko. I noticed, during the recent stormy weather, that the barometric pressure and wind speed readings were hugely inaccurate. I contacted consumer services and they suggested some quick fixes like replace Batteries, reset sensor, reset display and ensure the sensor is firmly fixed. I informed customer services that I had tried all those fixes and the readings were still inaccurate. Youshiko replied saying that was not possible and it must be a setting issue however send your item to Youshiko with proof of purchase it will be checked and if required it will be replaced. I returned the item but received an e-mail saying a bracket was missing, some screws ( which were in the locating holes with nuts on ) and it was not in its original packaging therefore they could not sell this item again! They said they would deduct 80% of the original price to cover seller loss! I replied saying I wasn't willing to accept that and under the Consumer Rights act they had supplied me with an item that was not fit for purpose and as my Statutory rights under a goods contract had not been met. I had the right to a repair or replacement and would be happy to accept either. Youshiko replied with "We know all the laws" and "it was a simple Tech. issue which could be fixed in advance settings". They reiterated "This item cannot be sold again" and finished with " This return is closed. There is not much further we can do." Luckily I have been able to obtain a full refund through Amazons A-Z Guarantee having given them all the details and letting them make the appropriate decision.
