I’ve ordered from Zooplus several times in the past and, to be fair, there are things I really like about the company. The zoo points scheme is a great idea – it’s nice being able to build up points with each order and redeem them for free treats or toys for my dog.
Unfortunately, the delivery experience has been consistently disappointing. Orders seem to be randomly assigned to either DPD or Evri. I’ve never had any issues with DPD, but Evri are, quite frankly, dreadful. My parcels are frequently late, which is incredibly frustrating when you’re relying on timely delivery of essential items like puppy food.
What makes matters worse is the complete lack of choice at checkout. When orders are sent via Evri, they are often delayed by several days, arrive damaged, get left at the wrong address, or sometimes don’t arrive at all. For orders under £39, customers are paying for delivery anyway, so it’s hard to understand why there isn’t an option to choose a preferred courier. I’m sure many customers, myself included, would happily pay a little extra for a reliable service.
I’ve raised these concerns with Zooplus multiple times, particularly about the ongoing issues with Evri (who seem to be their preferred courier), but nothing has changed. I’ve been told the courier is selected at random, which doesn’t inspire much confidence.
Sadly, because of these repeated delivery problems, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and choosing a company that can deliver orders on time and doesn’t rely on Evri.
