Review Time
I bought what I understood to be a single-trip travel insurance policy through ANWB's subsidiary Unigarant in 2024. Two years later I discovered it had been silently renewing annually, with €50+ debited from my account each year. Renewal notices were going to an address I no longer lived at.
Nothing in the purchase flow indicated that I was signing up to an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off purchase. ANWB is using trust in its brand to scam people via Unigarant.
I was recently involved in a cycling accident that caused significant damage to my bike, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service from the company. Communication was prompt, clear, and professional from the beginning. They quickly arranged for an assessor, who confirmed that the bike needed to be written off. To my surprise, the company processed the full payout within a day—truly remarkable. Additionally, they automatically refunded all the premiums I had paid during the time I was unable to use my bike, without me even needing to ask. Exceptional service, seamless process, and a service provider that genuinely cares for its customers. Highly recommended!
The app has been down for three weeks, making it impossible to utilize the service. What adds to the frustration is the total absence of support. Emails go unanswered, and there's no way to contact anyone by phone. I'm very disappointed with this level of service. I hope the company resolves this issue soon, but my experience has been overwhelmingly negative so far.
Terrible experience. It's linked to another company that operates in a deceptive manner to avoid paying claims. I can't believe this is happening in a developed country. The postal service lost my secondary key and they refused to cover my insurance. It's frustrating. The mail was registered, and I followed all the necessary steps. It's just 700 euros, but it's not about the money; it's about the lack of respect towards the customer. It's unacceptable that they don't acknowledge it wasn't my fault and that it was an issue with the postal service. I've provided video and pictures as evidence. This is just a warning for potential customers: steer clear of both companies. I'm terminating my relationship with the current provider and switching to another company known for good customer service. I understand it's your job, but the policies in place are problematic. When issues arise, you should consider checking reviews. Many customers share similar experiences. For 700 euros, you choose to maintain a poor reputation. There's no understanding from your side, and I have no acceptance of this situation. Still a terrible experience.
