I bought a FRITZ!Box 7690 (€260) to replace my Telekom Magenta router. I expected better performance

I bought a FRITZ!Box 7690 (€260) to replace my Telekom Magenta router. I expected better performance, especially because the device supports Wi-Fi 7. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.

The Wi-Fi performance is far worse than expected. Even in my office, which is only about 8 meters away from the router on the same floor, the connection is unstable and often very slow. I tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including switching to 2.4 GHz only and adjusting several wireless settings, but the connection remained unreliable.

Customer support has also been frustrating. I contacted them several times by phone but did not receive any meaningful follow-up or solution to the problem.

For a router in this price range, I expected significantly better performance and support. Because of this experience, I will return the device.

I am also surprised to see so many “test winner” reviews for this product. Based on my experience, the performance simply does not match the reputation.

What a dramatic company

What a dramatic company. No response on a bug in the Parental Controls I thought that companies where pleased that customers are helping to improve their products. Apparently not!

very bad developers

I own a fritxbox 7590, quite expensive router, and works as good as 20 euro Chinese router.if you need something extra then you better look elsewhere.No QoS, no global/per user bandwidth limit, etc etc.what a shame, I'll never recommend again this company neither I'll buy their products.

Been using a number of devices from AVM: 2 different models of Fritz!Box'es, range extenders with the Mesh network feature and VoIP connectivity.All smooth, good range, quality software and web interface - something not happening too often in routers industry.

My Fritz!Box 3390 packed up after three years and it became very, very obvious that AVM did not want to acknowledge any responsibility for the warranty which was for five years. In the end I gave up as my time was more valuable. But I did go out and buy another Fritz!Box (3490) as, when it works, the product excellent. Shame on me and more shame on AVM.NB: I have a new email address but TrustPilot does not have a way to change/update.!
