Today was the first time that I had attended one of these events. My daughter and I took her 11 month old son to the Walthamstow event which we all enjoyed. My grandson was mesmemerised and really seemed to enjoy it. The concert was well attended and the children were all remarkably well behaved which indicated to me that they also enjoyed the experience. The pianist was very good and the presenter read poems, introduced each animal with its noises ( this was Carnival of the Animals) and included some nursery rhymes all of which helped to engage the children.
The experience was truly disappointing. We attended the Christmas concert themed around a famous musical, expecting more engaging music for children since it was designed for them. I anticipated a greater selection of Christmas songs and nursery rhymes presented in a classical manner to captivate the kids, but it felt quite disordered. Throughout the session, many children found it hard to focus, leading to a disruptive atmosphere with minimal engagement.
We are big fans of this concert experience! We've been bringing our 3-year-old daughter since she was a baby, and we recently included our newborn at a Christmas concert. The music quality is excellent, appealing to various ages, and the concerts are just the right length, blending children's and classical music to keep the audience engaged.
Very disappointed, to the point we left after 30 minutes. The promotional materials showed multiple musicians interacting with the kids, but we only had a harpist and a lady with a flashing star. While the harpist was skilled, the instrument couldn't compete with the noise of crying babies. At £18 per ticket, we felt let down and wouldn't recommend this to anyone. We had high hopes and feel quite scammed out of our money.
Charming concerts featuring talented musicians that are easy to attend with children. However, a bit more interaction or activities for the younger ones would be appreciated, such as a circle in front for movement and exploration of music or instruments. While not cheap, the quality of the musicians is commendable!
I attended a Christmas special where they narrated the story of the Snowman with piano and flute, along with some carols in between. It was lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've already booked the next concert for the following month. The venue had facilities like toilets and baby changing areas, making it very convenient.
I attended the 'Sound of Music' concert with my 2-year-old and 5-month-old, and both of my girls absolutely loved it! The performers were fantastic, introducing some Christmas classics between songs, and we genuinely had the best time. Thank you to everyone involved!
I've been attending this concert series since my grandson was a few months old. Now that he's in school, he misses coming when I bring his little sister. We all enjoy the concerts and the wonderful interaction between musicians and the audience. It's been a great way to introduce them to classical music, and my granddaughter even approached a flautist to say 'bye bye music.' Thank you for the music!
