Review Time
It took me a long time to commit to actually buying from Baiia and I'm so glad I did. They bikini pieces are high quality and sculpting. Sizing guide is really helpful, advising me to get a size smaller than I usually would on top and bottom and it was correct. Staff were very responsive to emails.
Gorgeous swimming costumes. I bought the Brigitte reversible top and bottoms. The only thing is, I have a slightly larger bottom, and found the old style not quite wide enough. Saving up to buy the new version, which are slightly wider. But love my swimmers.
Over the past few months, I’ve ordered the Espresso wrapsuit, the Riviera Mesh sarong, the Guyulgang bikini, the Celeste jumpsuit, and a double set of style shifters. I mix them all. Next up, I’ll get a rash guard top. Love them all. 5’3”, 133 lbs, US size 10.
If I could give it a 0 I would! This product is overpriced and so disappointing. There is way too much material, which curls together and makes it look like I have massive rolls. Instead of being flattering on my waist, the two piece high wasted bikini makes me look square and much larger than I am. In some places there are 3 thick layers of material, so in a hot climate it feels horrible. I tried the size up and the size down, and no matter what something popped out with almost every movement in this two-piece swimsuit. Felt so uncomfortable!
Just received my third and probably final order from Baiia. Quite disappointed with the company overall. The good: - the quality, versatility, and creativity of the product and the designs, even when the fit is a little inconsistent or requires manoeuvring (they can be quite tight by design when they do fit)- woman-owned company - Amber seems nice on social media, so I hope she actually is, and she does design well for women, in part because of her own life experience. Some meaningful collabs too (and hoping it’s not greenwashing)The bad:- Feels like they cut corners. I can only afford these swimsuits during the occasional seconds and sample sale, so I understand that they’re not going to be perfect. But the website and their offerings are constantly and quietly changing - I often see errors or sudden changes. I’ve read the listings a lot at each sale to try and understand what I’m getting. I believe the seconds and sample sale tops used to come with both ties if the design has them (some of the older patterns only came with one tie), but this time I was surprised to receive a top of a newer pattern with only one tie. Looked back on the website and noticed all the descriptions had been updated to specifically say it just comes with one tie. Fine, I guess I didn’t read it closely enough this time. But it also doesn’t sit right to me that they *likely* take the second tie out of all their sale bundles and turn around and sell it as an extra tie for $29.99 USD each. It’s actually a really smart business move, but I wish it was communicated more clearly (it’s so hard to differentiate between a top, a bottom, a second, a sample, etc. Too many varieties using the same photos) or maybe have the option to pay a little more (but not $30USD) to keep the second tie. I also wish I felt more valued as a customer than a “$30” difference for their bottom line. - Customer service is a nightmare, which is ridiculous for the price point this company is trying to be at. For my second purchase in particular, which wasn’t a samples or seconds sale, I showed them (via screen recording) that one of their “add to cart” features wasn’t programmed correctly, so I ordered the incorrect size due to a glitch in the website (they’re not always consistent or clear when they’re using US or AUS sizing numbers on the international website, especially for the new “quick” options - they changed the website in November 2023-ish). Their customer service was polite, but continued to assert that it was just my fault and there was little they could do to help. It’s a headache and I’d rather not order from them anymore at all than feel a rush of defeat every time I receive an order that isn’t quite right because I know customer service won’t do much to remedy it, if they acknowledge it at all. When their website is so unhelpful (apparently I don’t just have to be hyper vigilant that I’m clicking the right size in the right system for the right piece, I also need to pore over every description right before adding to cart to see if they’ve changed their own definition of a grade A sample), and it feels like you’re on your own (kid - IYKYK) or out of luck if the sizing or something isn’t right (especially as an international customer), it’s just too expensive and too difficult (one might even say trifficult) to bother. Maybe their model isn’t well suited for e-commerce, but either way, I’m done and would not recommend.
