Small bank trying to act like the big banks. Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve seen and I’m 70 years old. Over 15 years with one account , they trat you like dirt. Of three people @ CS and bank managers all gave answers that conflicted with the other two! LOL blind leading the blind! Don’t bank here unless you like abuse.

I have banked with the Banner Bank for the past 15 years. I have seen nothing but kindness accommodation help and support from this branch in Ferndale Washington 98248. The bank manager and Julie the Financial Consultant are all first class and attentive
Totally incompetent. Cannot process even the most simple applications, EVERYTHING is more challenging here. Failure to disclose pretty much everything as well. Simple stuff like credit card limit increases are almost impossible to even request. Customer service is snide, immature, unprofessional and obnoxious.
Banner banks policy is to NOT verify funds. So my customer who wrote me a check to get them equipment has been informed. It was MY bank that called to verify. Not me. My bank verifys funds and I'm fine with it. My bank does not charge people who come in with my checks to cash them either.
I had a check that I wanted to verify funds with I wanted to make sure it was a good check and they refused to verify it I would have gone in if I was near one of their banks but I wasn't I took the check to a local check cashing and they wouldn't cash it now I'm out 1800.00 because you wouldn't verify it
As a canadian, I went looking for a friendly US friendly bank to allow myself as a Canadian to open up a bank. They have always been friendly and helpful and quick to answer questions. I have been using them for 10+ years and can recommend them for Canadians but also US Folks, highly recommended and happy with my savings account and credit card. Website is easy to navigate and customer service had always been friendly and helpful with resetting passwords and answering questions.
Grade: C+Banner Bank is a mixed bag, depending on which branch you visit, department you work with, and which representative you work with.Banner Bank finance department's staff is very disorganized in their record keeping. Representatives don't appear to keep notes on phone conversations or on recent transactions and don't know the current Banner Bank policies on lending. This division of Banner Bank was extremely disappointing to us when we did a HELOC. It was so bad, in fact, that we won't be doing that sort of business with them again. Banner Bank's late processing of scheduled EFTs were a huge problem. We spent long calls and on hold to remedy this. Now, on the bright side, their tellers, despite a heavy turnover, appear to be customer-satisfaction driven. They will bend over backwards to make your experience the best banking experience ever! I wish Banner Bank valued their employees and paid them enough to stay! Banner Bank lending department would not be my first choice, but if you're looking for a very friendly experience in personal banking, the tellers are equal the to task. The only downside is with that is the turnover; you're probably never going to be greeted by the same teller.
I've only been a customer at Banner Bank for a few years now, but it's been such an incredibly positive experience that I felt obligated to open this trustpilot page just so I could leave this review. Let me give some backstory.I switched from Chase after they started charging me a whopping $12/month just to keep my basic checking account open due to low income (which is really just kicking someone when they're already down). Prior to that, I had been a US Bank customer for several years, as that was where I opened my very first student account when I was 16 yrs old. Unfortunately they broke the law by allowing a debt collector to "garnish wages" from my account despite the funds being child support, which was supposed to be protected, and then refused to even admit they did anything wrong unless I took them to court. i couldn't afford a lawyer so I had to bite the bullet and accept the nearly $400 loss.Well let me tell you, after going thru all of that, my trust in banks in general was at an all-time low. I live in a small rural town and the only other option was Banner Bank so I switched my account there. After I told them my story, my personal banker expressed more compassion than I ever expected at the time, and pulled some strings to ensure I could qualify for a $75 promo credit for opening my account. He was friendly, funny, caring, and treated me like an actual human being, which was such a sharp contrast to my previous experiences. I was so happy with my choice that I convinced my partner to switch his account over as well.Their customer support team has been phenomenal as well. When the Equifax data breach happened, both myself and my partner were affected. The support team went out of their way to help us track down as much info as possible so we could file claims, not to mention it was their brilliant algorithm which initially caught the fraudulent transactions. I never would have noticed them had I not received the "suspicious activity" text notification. Speaking of technology, their Android app is great! It's simple and easy to use, but still packs almost all the same features as the full website. Their mobile check deposit function works flawlessly every time, compared to the other banking apps I've tried, which would always take blurry pictures and decline my deposit due to errors that I never understood how to fix. I'm a diligent beta tester for over a dozen apps so my only request is to release a beta version on the Play Store so folks like me can help it continue to improve! ;)Along the same vein, they just recently released a second app called Debit Controls. Now this is truly innovative since I've NEVER seen something like this offered by other banks before. It allows me to manually control all the security features for my debit card myself, including fraud alerts and the ability to choose which types of merchants can or cannot make charges to my card. I can even disable it at any time if I ever notice any suspicious activity. Giving the customer the power to do exactly what the bank's algorithm has been doing for years, is honestly amazing. Definitely a step in the right direction - other banks should take notes!
