Shocking System !!!!
I have no idea how their system works but it seems to be all over the place and no one can make up their mind. Despite an excellent Credit rating and a sizeable limit, i make a small purchase and its declined. Call to make complaint and then told to make the purchase again, its accepted ?????
Look elsewhere for a reliable source of credit !!

It is impossible to get through to someone that can help you pay the finance off early

Same as all the previous reviews

Same as all the previous reviews. Applied for finance for an iPhone as I have done previously with no issues; this time around it has been weirdly declined. Credit rating is excellent and I just received a generic email from Barclays without any specifics. It’s pretty obvious they are only going to lend to people who are likely to default as that’s the only way they’ll make money on 0%. Pretty disgusting to be honest.

Website borken beyond usability

After applying to get an iPhone on 0% credit, I got an email requesting to verify my identity. Sadly this has not been possible due to their broken website. I tried different browsers and devices, I either get some questionable "LoginDocSign" file trying to download, or outright error 400. Given that any issues with their online system means that in the future I might struggle to fulfill my credit obligation I deem this too high risk to proceed. Equally, I would worry my personal information will be leaked soon, given apparent ridiculously bad IT system. Stay away! This is a car-crash waiting to happen with your credit data and money.

Broken website, clueless staff and lost complaints! Avoid!!

Ordered an iPhone 17 Pro Max for pickup at 24 months 0%. Before my application could progress I needed to provide a drivers license. The website to do this showed an error and every time I phoned up they had no idea what to do! Told me my phone was the problem and to try on a friend’s which had the same issue. They opened a complaint but could not acknowledge a problem or give an eta of a fix. After 5 phone calls and being told there’s no timeframe of a fix I bought the phone outright and they conveniently lost my complaint.Stay away from Barclays and this department!

Like many other I have been let down by…

Like many other I have been let down by BPF. I think apple should stop using their service if they have erratic criteria on who gets finance and who does not. I have a fantastic credit history and can afford the phone but they decided to not grant it to me, without giving any proper explanations. I will take this further and report to apple and FCA. Horrible service! I have heard from Experian credit experts that apparently if they have too many applications close to a new iPhone release they decide to reject applications for no reasons.

iPhone 17 application declined.

My application was declined prior to the launch of new iPhones. Bought my previous one five years ago on 0% through BPF with no issues. Contacted BPF this time to find out reason why seeing I have a good credit score but they would not comment. They advised me to contact Experian who suggested linking my bank account which would increase my credit rating, which I did. So although I can not get a £799 iPhone loan I am now bombarded by Experian saying I can have approval for car loans if I need them, how back to front is this? Having spoken to BPF again that my credit score was good and had received my Experian report two more attempts to get the 0% finance have failed. I have the funds to buy it cash but am like other reviewers on here shocked that my applications have been declined.

Apple should partner with someone else. It is making customers unhappy.

I never seem to be successful when buying iphone through Barclays finance. Always gets rejected and my credit scores are excellent. I never understand why they reject me.

Declining applications for no apparent legitimate reason.

Shocking. Declined for no reason.I’ve been a long term customer of the Barclays Group including BPF loan with Apple. Also a credit card with high limit as well as other credit cards with higher limits. My credit utilisation is around 1-5% a month. All cards paid off in full. Never missed a payment. Two mortgages. Good disposable income each month. I’ve never missed a credit payment.Yesterday they declined my finance for new iPhone. When I contacted them they said that there was a discrepancy between the income I inputted and what they have on file. Today they emailed me asking to call in to provide further details for my application. I called within the hour but couldn’t get passed customer services who were just saying it had been declined. They’ve put a call back request in which will take up to 5 days, no doubt calling me whilst at work.Checked my credit files with various credit agencies. All providing me with excellent credit rating. There is no reason for the decline. I don’t actually need the line of credit but at 0% and with additional protections that are provided buying such items on credit it made sense.Wife was also declined when she applied. Will update with outcome. Last time this happened with another finance company following months of conversation I discovered that they were a) holding incorrect information about me and b) recorded inaccurate information about me due to my persistence. They got fined for DPA violations and I got compensated.
