I am giving 1 start because the system won't allow me to give zero stars. I am completely disappointed, with the service. Since we signed with this company the amount of work has tripled fixing Belong's errors. Here is the list:
1. Charged me for services that never were approved
2. By talking to the tenant directly we found Belong never performed a service they charged me for.
3. During the sales calls they committed to something they didn't want to honor.
4. Their portal has many defects and malfunctions (errors while trying to access documents, doubled charges, incorrect EOIs just to name a few)
5. They took 8 weeks to cancel a wrong charge in my account.
7. The cleaning crew they sent did a terrible job, left dirty windows and floors, and disappeared the gas key from the fireplace, which has not been replaced by the way.
8. If you don't have an SSN they won't pay you electronically, so if you hold an ITIN beware because they send you a check weeks late.
I have more but no more space on the review.
Tenants they placed in our condo caused major water damage by overfilling the bathtub and not cleaning it up. Belong Homes is refusing to hold them responsible and is making us, the owners, pay for repairs. They’re even trying to blame “ventilation issues” despite a clean inspection before renting.
Because we ended our contract with them, they now refuse to help us at all. Completely unprofessional, irresponsible, and a nightmare for owners who expect their property managers to actually manage.
A Senior Manager of Customer Experience named Will Leavitt reached out to fix there mistake. They agreed that the burden of repairs should fall on the tenant since this went beyong normal wear and tear and Belong failed to do a 6 month walk through and catch this before the damage got so extensive.
Now 7 months later they are trying to direct withdraw the repair amount from my bank account! I am having to file a fraud claim with my bank and now will need to take them to court and file for restitution for my court fees.
I don’t recommend Belong Homes to anyone who values accountability and proper representation.
They don’t fix critical issues like the door lock not working and windows not installed correctly. They don’t have their own maintenance and hire someone (doesn’t tell you who) and I’ve had them hit of me and another one be rude. The contract they give you is very landlord friendly and they don’t listen to you at all. Greedy and hungry for money.
This has been the most frustrating rental experience I've ever encountered. I won't elaborate too much, but if you enjoy being given the runaround, speaking to a different overseas representative every time you call who knows nothing about your situation despite having explained it multiple times, waiting endlessly on hold, or never receiving responses to your messages, then you might find this service appealing. The reliance on AI chatbots and the absence of a local presence make it feel like renting from a company far removed from your area. It's reminiscent of the worst customer service experience you've had, amplified by the lack of personal touch. Additionally, it’s clear that many positive reviews seem artificially generated, which is quite amusing.
