Unfortunately, our Butlin’s experience was far below expectations. The accommodation felt tired and not very clean, the resort was overcrowded with long queues everywhere, and most activities didn’t feel worth the extra cost. Food was overpriced for the quality, and the whole trip felt stressful rather than enjoyable. Definitely not good value for money and not the fun break we were hoping for.
The experience at Butlins Skegness was appalling. Due to a medical emergency, we couldn’t attend our reservation. The customer service demanded proof, which they deemed unacceptable, implying dishonesty. They removed my information from the booking without consent, despite my attempts to clarify. The lack of compassion and consistent communication was frustrating and unacceptable.
The trip to Skegness for a Back to the 2000’s weekend from 9-12 2026 started off well with an efficient check-in, which was much quicker than at another location. However, that was the highlight. The room was unclean, and we had to request towels. There were puddles of water outside our room, making it easy to get wet. I paid an extra £50 for VIP access to avoid bar queues, but the small VIP area only offered lager and cider, forcing us to queue anyway. On the second day, the VIP area was overcrowded during Bingo Bongo, and it would have been better to accommodate all who had paid. Breakfast was acceptable but frequently served cold, and the Saturday evening meal was quite poor. While the entertainment was decent, it felt lacking compared to previous visits at another location. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't face another night.
Overall, the experience could have been improved. While the general standards were lacking, Tia from the bottomless brunch on Saturday was exceptional, making us feel welcomed and attentive to our needs. She quickly resolved the heat issue, showcasing great hospitality. Her service helped overshadow some of the other problems we faced.

Upon arrival, we faced a long check-in queue with no available restrooms. The staff at the kiosk were unhelpful, and finding a parking space took too long. There were no luggage trolleys, and many guests struggled with their bags. The signage to the accommodation was poor, and the apartment itself was dirty and smelled unpleasant. We had to clean up water spills with our own towels, and customer service was unresponsive. Overall, the place felt run-down and in need of better upkeep.
I've been a regular visitor to a location for the past 15 years. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend our New Year’s break due to my mother being hospitalized. The customer service showed no empathy or understanding. I requested to reschedule our break and was denied, as well as my request to transfer our prepaid food package to friends. We lost £800, and although my husband considered going with the kids, they were too upset to leave. The establishment seems more focused on profits than on customer care, and I feel let down as a long-time guest.
