Being first time parents, we found ourselves quickly overwhelmed with the college application process. We didn't know where to even begin, and with that brought a significant amount of anxiety as each school had different requirements, deadlines, etc on how to apply. The moment we met Jason, was like a weight was lifted off our shoulders. Jason is so knowledgable and resourceful. He is so dedicated to his clients, and truly knew how to convert my daughter to be the best version of herself on college applications. He kept my daughter on track by assigning her smaller tasks and deadlines to work under. He followed up with her and touched base each and every week to make sure she was staying on track. That helped us so incredibly much to not become super overwhelmed with everything. Jason is professional, prompt, and quick to respond and is always willing to help with the next step. We were looking for college admissions guidance for our daughter as the first one of our kids to venture into this multilayered process, and really needed a Sherpa skilled in taking us from basecamp pre-planning, with precision pulses of oxygen along the way, so we could breathe freely all the way to the summit. Jason and crew absolutely delivered through the full journey, starting one year in advance to ensure ECs, grades, test scores, and scholarship opportunities were where they needed to be, then expertly outlining the elements vital to coherent and compelling personal essays, and finally a step-by-step walkthrough in submitting the common app. Jason has a nice touch with teenaged students (and he confided in me that this approach has been an iterative undertaking, though it appears so natural to him), building confidence and autonomy for these kids to drive that payoff as they make that leap into college and eventual careers, and brings in parents at all the right moments. At the outset I asked Jason how he defines success, and he was clear-eyed in simply telling us that if the student feels comfortable at a college regardless of the reputation or national “ranking,” with acceptance(s) within their top 3 choices, then mission accomplished. It worked out for us, and we’re excited to tee up or next kid with Jason and company when it’s his turn next year.
The Team at Campus to Career Crossroads was fantastic! I'm not sure how my family would have survived the college application/selection process without the assistance and guidance of Jen. She provided valuable timelines and college visit suggestions and was there every step of the way during the application process. I think it's great to have someone in our daughter's circle who is not family and will provide honest and knowledgeable advice which I feel that Jen did.
