Only two times did we file a claim. The first time the tech came within 3 days. The next time was for AC. We live in a rural area . After two days were sent a message no tech available to service area. We were given instructions to find a tech, get the job done , and file for reimbursement. Only if every step was taken as directed.
In Dec. our refrigerator reached 51 degrees and climbing when we walked in with a trunk load of groceries. It was Friday late afternoon. Immediately we called Choice. After 45 minutes of trying to speak with a live person,and finally being told no one was available to take our call, we gave up. Also the robot kept trying to tell us to file a claim and prepay $75.00 before proceeding. The nearest appliance store is 75 miles away. While enroute we called and got there 5 minutes before closing. We were able purchase a new fridge. I once again try calling to talk to a person and got the same robot answers wanting us to file a claim and prepay again. I sent an email explaining our situation, acknowledging it was not the proper protocol. I asked for a phone call to explain and that any reimbursement would be appreciated. I sent 3 emails and no one responded. We have cancelled our policy and received our refund. I do not recommend this company. Please be careful about purchasing a policy from them.
One of THE worst companies to deal with. They arbitrarily deny claims. The case manager told me that she knew more than TWO trained electrical technicians that diagnoised that a breaker switch had gone bad from normal wear and tear. She stated that switches do NOT go bad from normal wear and tear and CW would not pay for any repairs.
Well, so far, we have not had a very good experience with choice home warranty. There was already a warranty on the house when we got it, but it was about to run out so we decided to continue the warranty. There is a clog in the basement laundry room, where the washer drains. They sent out Roto rooter and they got part of the clog taken care of, but apparently there was more stoppage somewhere in the line because our washer draining still overflows and floods the basement. They rescheduled us an appointment with Roto rooter that at the house all day, waiting for them to show up, and apparently the appointment got canceled without my knowledge. So now here we are again not able to use our washing machine with mold in the basement and come to find out this has been an ongoing issue with choice on warranty and the problem has never been fixed. Hopefully the other better experiences with them, but we definitely are not.
Moved into a new home and wanted some peace of mind with the appliances. Signed up for Choice Home Warranty and have regretted every interaction I had with their customer service. I could show you months of communications first trying to have my furnace repaired, then simply trying to quit their service. You're better off buying a service plan from your local plumber. I cancelled in August, they failed to respond until December when I resent my email cancellation, then stated there was due refund. Also note that all 5-star reviews are from "invited" customers. This is nothing less than paid advertising and a shameful act from a dishonest company.
Received 8 calls from them, when I blocked the number they changed it and still called after the 8th time, the gentleman still tried to sell me, I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THEM
Stopped using this service because no one would come out to service our home. Literally just charged my bank account 370.00 without authorization. Called the billing department demanding a refund that they refused. I have not used this service in 2 years... They should be out of business with these tactics!!!
We have Choice Home Warranty and spent several thousand dollars to join. We pay $75 per service call. Lately when they put the claim in, it is always a act of God and they don't pay. The service professionals say they have new owners, and every claim is a "Act of God" so Coice is not paying for anything.
My experience with choice home warranty is not so great. I called them up as dishwasher is not working. The tech who arrived mentioned onboard electronics is not working and said they need to replace the unit. However as per choice home warranty, they said no mechanical failure and hence doesn’t support claim. I don’t understand how can electronics go bad if there is no issue with the unit. Choice home warranty support is of no use and they are never in support of understanding the issue. Not worth renewing them nor having their home warranty when they try to find loop holes on how to skip paying the claims. We just use the dishwasher the way it needs to be used, if something isn’t working then it’s warranty time but choice home warranty proved to be useless.
Pressured to buy warranty today. Then after I paid, I pulled up BBB, stay away from this company. They are rude. I had to argue over an hour to get my policy canceled. When I told them the reason I wanted to cancel, Customer Service Representative told me not to believe everything on the lawsuits, then she said that they are a multimillion dollar company, they dont care if they have to pay for lawsuits! They won't pay for claims. So they don't need my money.
This company is absolutely horrible. I'm been with this company since May 2021 and it's been hell from the start. From denied claims, rude customer service representatives, and unprofessional technicians. My last claim was for my air conditioning unit. It took nine months to get it fixed between the lies from the technician and Choice. After finally closing the claims, I tried to end my service but they refuse to talk to me. I changed my banking information and they somehow obtained my new information which my lawyer will be handling. If you are considering this company for your home warranty, be ready for anything except professional business.
