I've completed 1 semester and I'm half way through my second semester with Citizen's cafe and I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend to anyone looking to learn conversational Hebrew. The teachers are amazing, they make class fun and casual ensuring students feel comfortable to speak and make mistakes, and I feel that they truly care about your development. My Hebrew has drastically improved already and I'm looking forward to learning more in the classes.
I was hesitant to sign up as I wasn't sure I would enjoy a zoom format. I am now in my second semester, and I look forward to every single class and practice group. The teachers are ALL incredible, and I have really enjoyed getting to know my classmates.

I’ve been taking classes on and off for 5 years. Every teacher has been great, the methods are creative, successful, and fun, The other students inspire you to improve. The extras like practice sessions, presentations, videos, etc give plenty of room to expand on learning Hebrew but also about life in Israel.The school encourages feedback because they are always trying to improve and build.
I truly love Citizens Cafe lessons and the teachers. CC offer variety of classes based on any level of knowledge. The schedule is very convenient for different time zones. The teachers are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and engaging. The material is well presented and appropriate for particular class and level of knowledge. The lessons are conducted in pleasant, comfortable and encouraging atmosphere.
So I’ve kinda fumbled my way through 4 different ulpanim - never gaining confidence to speak. I decided to make the plunge and invest in Citizen Cafe. Wow!!! I’m learning! I’m speaking! I’m understanding!!! And it’s actually fun!!! The class content is great- all so practical for getting through daily life in Israel. The teachers make it interesting, fun and relevant. It’s a completely different approach to learning the language. We actually learn to feel it; to hear it; to repeat over and over; to experience moving our mouth, lips and tongue in a new way to actually speak the language. No notes. No grammar rules. Not boring. They use songs, television, movies, real life experiences and then we get to just talk. Conversationally. And are encouraged to make friends in the class. Brilliant!!!!! I’m learning. My only drawback is I wish I knew the platform to ask questions when I get confused. The supplemental- flash cards, recordings, games are also a tremendous help. Plus the newsletters, extra (fun) classes and seminars. Couldn’t be more engaging!!!I’ll definitely continue with Citizen ☕️ Now where can I go to ask my questions????
I’m half way through my first semester and have already signed up for the second. I have tried various Hebrew courses in the past but nothing inspired me. Citizen Cafe firstly has a great method of teaching, it’s relevant, it’s fun, it’s supportive and I feel real progress already. I would fully recommend!
Perfect way for learning quickly practical Hebrew including slang. Teachers are nice, professional and mostly full of humor, which makes the lessons a real joy. Also a lot of tools in your account for supporting you in your Hebrew journey. Highly recommended!
