Review Time
I'm a mentor there, and, as a beginner mentor, it's not so difficult to find orders. Almost every evening that I decide to work, I can find something for myself. This is something many other platforms can't do for you. Highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a side hustle with a potential of becoming a main income stream.
The mentor was unable to complete any of the specific freelance task but still expected to be paid. CodeMentor where extremely unhelpful and initially sided with the mentor taking them only at their word regardless of the evidence I presented and then eventually only gave a 50% refund. So the mentor essentially got paid for doing nothing. Beware of this company as they will not hold mentors accountable and will likely take their side regardless of evidence. As you can see from the reply below they have even gave a generic reply as they know they are wrong.
Codementor just does what it says. It's an expensive solution depending on how much you value the solution you get. Your money is protected, your time is not though. My only experience was with a developer who did not do well with communication so I got the help I needed later than I needed
This is one of those solutions that if you know what you are looking for and you are able to that in word then you will succeed here. Most of your succes is depending on yourself and I am hugely in favour to that. We were never able to find the right people so fast and so easy and cheap!!!
Poor selection of instructors.I've posted a job on codementor but the level of quality isn't great for intermediate.I was looking at a mentor to help in desktop development as I was coming from the web. The responses I had were that they were 'experts' but when I asked them basic questions about multithreading or managing threads they didn't bother responding or gave the wrong answer.Even with basic questions on async/await I was then told to use signalr to manage background tasks 🤦♂️. The answer was pretty simple and was not even related to desktop, it was in c#. I'm not sure if they should be claiming to be experts on the framework and couldn't answer this basic question. One instructor I had was asking to do a session to try it out but he couldn't answer the questions I asked him.I felt a bit disappointed and disgusted with the high fees and poor quality of mentors on the job request. I think it's only good for juniors instead of intermediate.
Its a very good platform for students or other platforms which have a situation where they need help because lot of experts will see it and will help. Also, for developers is very interesting because they dont need to wait for customer to find them for instance with a private webpage or fiverr. Here the codementors are seeing the requests of the customer and an apply to those where they are expert in.Really great platform and I got lot of cool connections out from it as well!
