I am still in the process, but I have no complaints about the Ombudsman. The service is professional, and the website is user-friendly, allowing me to track my claim easily. Plus, it’s great to know I can actually speak to someone over the phone.
The company initially failed to address the return issue at the end of the contract. They demanded payment and threatened collections for something I didn’t possess. Their communication, both with me and internally, was poor. Thankfully, the ombudsman intervened, resulting in a fair outcome and saving me £105 that the company unjustly tried to claim. My advice is to keep all records of your communications with your service provider, as you will need them.
I had a fantastic experience with the communication representative. So far, he has successfully helped me exit my ISP contract due to not receiving the promised speeds, and the customer service from my ISP has been quite disappointing. The representative, named Peter, has been very helpful.
EDIT: IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY - YOU CLAIM TO BE IMPARTIAL?! Why suggest I commit to a contract with another provider?! This is not impartial! The reviews say it all! In my experience, these organizations rarely side with consumers like me. I feel wronged by the provider for poor service and high costs, yet the support team sided with them. I question what they gain from this because it certainly feels unfair! They even send a questionnaire before making a decision, hoping for a good review before disappointing you! I don’t trust them, and I suggest you don’t either. I’ll be searching for a better provider.

The communication was excellent, always on the same day. I spoke with the case handler at the start, and I was impressed when they called me first to discuss the outcome. It made the experience personal and helped bring closure to a long-standing issue.
How can a case be reviewed, a decision made in favor of the consumer, and then reversed after an appeal by the supplier? It seems like the decision was influenced by the provider, ignoring the original facts. This service appears to be compromised by the very industries it is meant to investigate.
