If I could give a zero rating, I would. I have enjoyed the service for years, but I had to throw away the contents of the turkey box due to its poor quality. My partner suggested they might have new ownership, and it turns out they changed hands recently.
I love the service, so I decided to try their home offerings with a gift voucher. The food arrived well-packaged with a helpful guide for preparation. We chose the steak date night box, and the food was outstanding—high quality and plentiful! A delightful treat that I would highly recommend.
I received a steak night for two as a gift, but it was disappointing. The French onion soup had an odd aftertaste, the steak was tough and flavorless, and the fries were dry and bland. The crème caramel was good, but overall, it felt like a waste of money. I had a great experience a couple of years ago, so this drop in quality is puzzling.
I received good service when changing my delivery date, and my order arrived on time. However, I had issues with a broken sauce pot that leaked onto my desserts and a ribeye steak that was mostly fat. The replacement steak was thin and unappetizing, not at all what I expected. The lobster required cooking skills I lack, and the scallops had a strong odor. While the crème caramel was excellent, I was very disappointed with this birthday delivery.
I anticipated something special, but I was let down. I ordered a breakfast box; while the sausages were decent, the skins were tough, and the bacon was overly smoky. The eggs were cracked, and I was offered a small discount for my trouble, which didn’t impress me. The black pudding was unappetizing, and overall, it felt overpriced compared to what I could find elsewhere.
If I could give zero stars, I would. They failed to deliver a birthday gift as promised, which was incredibly disappointing. They didn't reach out to either me or the recipient to inform us of the issue. I strongly recommend avoiding this service!
I've ordered from this service about five times without any issues. It's become a tradition to order a special meal for my husband's birthday. The food is always delicious and easy to prepare. I was surprised by the negative feedback, which seems to stem mainly from delivery problems. I'm looking forward to my next order, as their meals are truly enjoyable.
