Review Time
I’ll start by saying that conveyancing as a whole feels like a very outdated and unnecessarily complex process — lots of moving parts, lots of repetition, and at times it can feel harder than it needs to be. That’s not specific to any one firm, just the system in general.
That said, DC Law and the E-way portal made their part of it as straightforward as it possibly could be. The online portal is simple, clear and easy to use. Documents were accessible, updates were visible, and it helped bring some structure to what can otherwise feel like organised chaos.
Keran Bashir kept us informed throughout and responded when needed, which is really what you want during a stressful move. Communication was steady and we always knew where things stood.
Conveyancing is never going to feel effortless, but DC Law delivered a solid, professional service — and for that, five stars.
AVOID
Absolutely avoid DCLaw at all costs! Worst service I have ever experienced.
It is almost impossible to speak to an actual human being. Everything is pushed through their online messaging portal, which feels completely robotic and impersonal. There is no proper communication, no accountability, and no sense that real people are dealing with your case.
I sold my house in 2023, and they held £300 of my money in their account. I have been chasing them for THREE YEARS to return it. I sent multiple emails to different departments — all ignored at first. My emails and voicemails went unanswered until I escalated the matter, mentioned making a formal complaint, and referred to involving the Legal Ombudsman. Even then, it took countless emails to get them to understand that this was MY money and it needed to be released.
When they finally agreed to return the funds, they started nitpicking over irrelevant details. They asked for a bank statement, which I provided. Then they questioned the fact that the title showed “Miss” instead of “Mrs” — even though when I originally sold my property with them, my bank details showed “Miss” and this was never an issue. Funny how it suddenly became a “problem” only when they had to return my money after holding it for three years!
Only after sending a very firm email did they finally return my £300.
The entire experience was frustrating, stressful, and completely unnecessary. Poor communication, poor service, and unacceptable delays.
Please save yourself the hassle and avoid this company.
I had an extremely frustrating experience with DC Law during the purchase of my property.
From the outset, I was advised that the transaction should complete within 4–6 weeks, especially as it was a repossessed property. In reality, the process dragged on far longer than expected, with significant delays and almost no communication throughout.
My main point of contact, Rachel Sharif, was particularly disappointing. Updates were rare, calls and emails were often unanswered, and I was left chasing constantly just to find out what was happening with my own purchase. There was no sense of urgency or ownership of the case.
To make matters worse, right at the end of the process, a completely different person took over the case and signed everything off, with no proper explanation or handover. This summed up the overall experience — disorganised, unclear, and stressful.
Buying a property is stressful enough without having to fight for basic communication. Based on my experience, I would not recommend DC Law, especially if you value transparency, responsiveness, and timely completion.
The company has recently completed the conveyancing for my property, and I am genuinely pleased with how the conveyancer handled any issues that came up. As an international client, I appreciate the effort made to keep me informed throughout the process. The online dashboard is a very useful tool for clients to track the progress of their sale, but I suggest that any technical issues be addressed quickly by the technical team. Overall, the company offers a solid service with its professional and convenient solutions.
What truly enhanced my experience with the service was the convenience of handling the conveyancing online, eliminating the need for in-person visits. The representative was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond to ensure the deal was completed despite tight deadlines.
I was designated as the executor for my elderly neighbor’s estate, and the service represented me effectively. Initially, it felt like the process had come to a halt due to the departure of my original caseworker. However, once things resumed, I found Nikki Rimmer to be extremely helpful. I opted not to use the online portal, so we handled everything through email. The sale was completed smoothly and aligned perfectly with my buyer's need for a quick closure. Nikki provided valuable assistance throughout the entire process.
I am extremely satisfied with my experience with the service, and I want to express my gratitude to the representative! They were very professional and kind, working efficiently and addressing all my questions throughout the process. Thank you for making my first-time buying experience so smooth!
I recently collaborated with a conveyancer for both the purchase and sale of my properties, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the service provided. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, always taking the time to clarify each step and ensuring I understood the process from beginning to end. What stood out most was her accessibility—quick to respond, easy to contact, and consistently supportive whenever I had inquiries or concerns. Her efficiency made the experience seamless and stress-free, handling everything with professionalism and attention to detail. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a reliable and skilled conveyancer.
We recently engaged a legal service for a probate sale, and we were very pleased with their assistance. Although we encountered some technical difficulties with the ID department and the dashboard, once resolved, everything became straightforward. I appreciated the dashboard for tracking progress. Our conveyancer was highly professional, knowledgeable, and kept us updated throughout the entire process. No issue was too great, and he explained everything clearly without excessive legal jargon, promptly responding to calls and messages. He made significant efforts to ensure timely completion, even when our mortgage provider caused delays. I would recommend both the conveyancer and the service.
