I received the DNA results for my three-month-old puppy, whose mother is a dachshund mix. The results claim my small, short-legged puppy is part Australian cattle dog, great Pyrenees, Rottweiler, and other large breeds. This seems completely inaccurate! A sibling was tested by a different service, and I believe those results are much more reliable. I cannot recommend this company; it's not worth your money. When I reached out to the company to question the findings, they stood by their testing, which is fine, but be cautious when seeking DNA results for your dog!
Test results we're a complete scam..They say well just because it doesn't look like a poodle..LMAO this dog is so far from a poodle. Looks wise, hair, everything about my dog screams dobberman weiner dog..Then they lie to you on the phone i'm not an idiot and they tried to make it sound that way
DNA My Dog contacted ME as a reputable dog breeder and asked for me to submit DNA samples from my dogs in exchange for free results as they established their baseline database. I agreed to submit testing on 6 registered, purebred dogs with results promised in 8 to 12 weeks. After numerous emails requesting results, I've still never received anything from them. It's been 18 MONTHS! This company has absolutely zero credibility and stole DNA from my dogs in my opinion. I'll never do business with them and tell everyone who asks not to either.
I tested my dog as a puppy, and then decided to do an upgraded test and allergy test for fun a couple years later. At first I thought it would be funny if they gave me a different result - turns out it wasn't funny. After some back and forth, their customer service? person Angie resorted to gas lighting and condescension, ending with suggesting I see my vet - which makes no sense. If you are doing the test, make sure it's just for fun, as the information is not reliable and this is just a gimmick. First test seemed accurate and fit with my dogs looks/behavior. 4 breeds given - and I had included a picture of my dog. The new test gave only 2 breeds, and I did NOT include a picture this time, to see if there was any influence on the results the first time... I guess there was! Her allergy testing was wrong as well - I knew of one allergy for sure, but the test came back that she had no sensitivities to it. When I queried about the different results, they said the first test must have been wrong/contaminated and that I should see my vet if I am unsatisfied with their results.
DNA MY DOG is absolutely a SCAM; save your money you'll just be throwing it away. We have a Black Mouth Cur female dog & their results came back as 32% American Staffordshire Terrier, 21% American Pit Bull Terrier, 16% Mastiff & 14% Bernese Mountain Dog... What a joke, not even close then they'll tell you they will re-do it for FREE and supposably they did with the exact same results... SAVE YOUR MONEY, how a company can cheat people out of there hard earned money is awful...
I have used the test before when they had a smaller database, I thought with the new database they would be better. I was wrong, the results were garbage. I have the pedigree on the dogs that were bred along with Embark DNA results and it is not even close (they are Pomskies). I complained to the customer service and I got the most BS answer ever why it didn't work. Apparently not all DNA is passed on I was told. Which means that if you have an Asian person and a Caucasian person have a child the DNA test might only show the one? What an absolutely idiotic explanation for why their test is garbage. Don't waste your money, get the DNA testing done by a company that actually knows what they are doing.
