The company states in their policies that an IDL is required for licenses from certain countries. However, they refused to honor my reservation because I didn't have it, despite my English license and a substantial credit limit. The representative at the airport was unhelpful and insisted it was the law. I went to another rental agency that accepted my documents. Don't you want to earn money? Get your act together!
It wasn’t clearly indicated where to pick up the car, leading me to take the wrong bus. Once at the office, I encountered a long wait due to issues faced by others ahead of me. When it was finally my turn, I learned that the rental has limited mileage, but I was sold unlimited mileage for an extra cost. The vehicle lacked basic maintenance tools, and the maintenance light was on. I will not be returning due to this experience.
I can’t recommend this rental company. Rented a car in Lamezia Terme. Left it back in normal condition. Drivalia charge me 100€ for cleaning. We talking 5 min of vacuum cleaning. Had a long mail conversation got a refund receipt but never got the money back on my credit card. Contacted them again and got an answer that the transaction is valid. Because the car is dirty. Had to say that I never cleaned a rental car. Rented from several rental companies and never had a problem.
To begin with all seemed fine although they were a bit under-staffed so we were lucky to complete our collection at Pisa airport quickly. At this point they recommended their collision damage waiver insurance at something like 100euros for 3.5 days. I checked against Holiday autos policy from Axa which was 50 euros so clicked to buy that. It appeared to have gone through fine but I didn't notice until later that no payment had been taken. Not Drivalia's fault. The agent recommended I do a video of the car on collection as evidence of the condition. The car was peppered with dents and scratches all round the body and not clean inside so I made sure I caught it all. On returning the car the same agent said there was a chip in the windscreen. If we looked carefully there was indeed a tiny chip of about 1-2mm, probably too small even for a glue repair. He then said their policy is to replace the screen for which they charged me 468 euros. Thanks to the spotty internet and the failure of the CDW policy purchase to go through I have been left with this charge. What really annoys is that the agent who had been pleasant enough clearly saw it as some sort of game that he'd won. I've no way of knowing if it was there before but there's no way at all it justfied replacing the screen. No repairer I've used (and I've had two screen repaired on my own cars in the last few years) would even have bothered to look at that chip it was so miniscule. It is just sharp practice and soured the end of a good trip.
