Disappointing Experience at the Gym

During my two-day visit, I found this gym to be the worst I've encountered. Many of the weight lifting tools, including racks, barbells, and dumbbells, are in terrible condition. The barbells are so rusted that it's hard to find the balance point when gripping them. Additionally, the dumbbells have significant wear, with pieces of rubber missing from the grips. While there are a few newer machines, most equipment looks like it hasn't been updated in years; the entire facility is in dire need of renovation. The gym spans five floors, but certain stairways only connect to specific levels, and better signage would greatly improve navigation. Overall, this gym is long overdue for updates and equipment replacement. Owners, please take action for the benefit of your customers!

The Most Worn Out Gym - Needs Complete Renovation

I used the gym for two days while visiting. It is the worst gym I have been to. A lot of weight lifting equipment - racks, barbells and dumbbells are absolutely worn out. The barbells are so rusted you can’t determine where the mid point is for balance when gripping it. Dumbbells have chunks of rubber in the grips missing. There are a couple of newer machines but the vast majority of equipment has not been replaced in many years; the whole place needs to be revamped and replaced. The gym is spread out over five floors with certain stairways only providing access to certain floors. Better signage would help a lot.The whole gym is way overdue for refurbishment and for equipment to be replaced. Come on owners, do the right thing for your customers!

I wish I could give minus stars

I wish I could give minus stars. This is an ongoing issue with Flyefit CHQ branch and I have reached the end of my tolerance for their actions – or rather, inactions. Machines break and are not fixed for months and I mean months. There are 5 cross trainers in the mezzanine area. They consist of 3 and 2 – with 3 being the same model and 2 a slightly different more advanced model. Last year, one of the two more advanced machines broke, and it took quite a while before it was fixed. It was finally repaired and then the other machine broke. For three months, possibly more, the machine has had an ‘out of order’ sign on it. A treadmill machine on the ground floor was recently out of action. I’m not sure if this has been repaired yet. The stepping machine on the mezzanine floor was also broken – I believe it has been finally fixed. All across the gym, machines are giving up the ghost and it’s proving impossible for Flyefit to take any action. I have spoken to other gym members who make the same complaints – things break, I get that but to not fix them and repeatedly say that the parts are being ordered, in transit, on their way and will be here soon, to me seems like a repeated mantra that simply holds no meaning. It is appalling, lacklustre service. Two weeks ago today, I emailed Flyefit about the broken cross trainer. I received a polite and apologetic email back but still no action. I assured Flyefit that I would put up a review after two weeks (given how long the machine has already been out of order), and I am a woman of my word. This review will remain up on multiple platforms (and will be updated regularly) until all broken machines in Flyefit CHQ are repaired.

Disappointing Experience at FlyeFit…

Disappointing Experience at FlyeFit RanelaghWhile FlyeFit generally offers good value (the one on George Street is great), the Ranelagh branch seems to be poorly managed by their Duty Manager. Over the past couple of years, I've witnessed a lack of professionalism and attention to customer service. There have been multiple instances of broken equipment and unsanitary conditions that have gone unaddressed. When I pointed them out to their Duty Manager Riccardo Lelli I was just yelled at, that he didn’t want to do anything about it – it being broken equipment, blocked airvents, broken aircondition, paper towels and cleaning equipment missing for weeks at a time. It’s disappointing to see neglected maintenance, including gym machines, toilets, and shower facilities. Additionally, there seems to be an overall lack of support for gym members. Simple amenities, like towels for cleaning equipment, have been consistently unavailable, leading to an unhygienic environment that can be off-putting for anyone trying to maintain a workout routine. I've found that while some staff members genuinely care about their work and providing a positive experience, the management aspect leaves much to be desired – again their Duty Manager. It raises questions about how the management structure operates and why these issues persist. As a result of these experiences, I’ve decided it’s time to seek out a different gym that aligns better with my expectations for cleanliness, support, and overall management. I hope that the leadership at FlyeFit Ranelagh takes this feedback seriously and considers improvements for future members or perhaps make some personnel changes.

Changing rooms too small

Sandyford Flyefit: Changing rooms are too small and there are no spin classes like in other Flyefit gyms.

Swords branch

I've been with Flyefit for 3 years and I have roming membership scheme. I am mostly using Swords gym as it is 24 hrs and it works for me the best for early morning sessions. My review is based mainly on this location.Pros:Open 24 hrs, Affordable, great classes, good PT's, Clean, onsite Parking.Cons: Can get crowded at certain times- leading to weight shortage. Lockers in the shower rooms could do with attention- quite a few broken. The most annoying one for me is- people leaving their bars with weights on and going hone! This is often the case when I go in early (5am), maybe person who is sitting in the boot overnight could do the walk around and get this tidied?

Thefts, neglect and TOTAL lack of responsibility

Bad is not even the right word. I got robbed TWICE in this gym chain. They open your locker (it doesn’t matter what kind of padlock you have, I had 2 different and good ones) and steal your personal stuff (money, personal belongings, KEYS, they stole even my keys!!). The staff ignore you at all times, they do nothing at all. They don’t take any responsibility for their own clients. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!You don’t matter at all to this business, BOYCOTT THIS BUSINESS!

I have been a member for almost 5 years…

I have been a member for almost 5 years and i have visited many of Flyefits locations For a module of a low cost gym i find majority well equipped well run but they can be very busy but what else would you expectThey have heavily invested in gyms and have opened new gyms and every new gym gets better than previous openings.I do think they should mange gyms better on peak times.just on some of most recent visits to Dundrum i found equipment very good majority new , Dumbbells organised in sequence good working space , good layout. Stillorgan showers were closed no email. sent bit annoying this was as off Friday morning 25/9/25, Equipment some still old some new i guess they have not upgraded as yet.Sandyford nearly 2 years open this is where mainly train in am as pm is absolutely packed,I honestly can not understand why changing made so small myb bedroom is almost bigger .It is well equipped plenty of cage racks about 20 in total. dumbbell area good but not organised and that in my view is bad management and her failure to implement a system that other flyefits use.1 disadvantage if you are a dedicated gym user and use kb fro 7-8am you cannot access them and from 5-8 some evenings you cant access kb and other bits1 piece of equipment very close to studio entrance is pec dec and is actually dangerous as it comes out sometimes distance is hard to pass comfortably.could be suited elsewhere inn gym.i mentioned earlier bout groups hogging equipment this is happening to regular in sandyford and instructors oblivious to this should be addressed, and restrictions on amount of people using 1 piece of equipment.Maintenance /repairs generally good.Music gym floor generally very low. showers clean toilets clean.
