We like the small group tours they offer, the activities and variety, We have been on four such tours with G Adventures.
The downside for us is the quality of some of the hotel accommodation they provide. Some are very basic. I recognise we are not paying top prices but I do think some of the hotels can only be classed as one or two star accommodation.

Peru was my first solo holiday. I had the time of my life. Fabbi, our tour guide, was passionate, professional, helpful and really looked after our group. So many interesting activities in the 8 days, the highlight being Machu Pichu. Already looking at another G Adventure holiday: I wouldn’t look elsewhere. A truly memorable holiday.

Fantastic group tour, I did a trip to Vietnam for 12 days and loved it. It was sociable and Chan was a brilliant CEO. I got to see so much of the country in a short amount of time!

My girl friend and I were on the National Geographic / G Adventures "Journeys: Explore Jordan" from Feb 1 to 8, 2026. I must say that I feel as if I was cheated by G Adventures. I booked this tour because of the "National Geographic" name, but aside from one lecture in a room in a restaurant, there was nothing National Geographic about the tour. It's basically the same G Adventures tour priced $1000 to $1500 less a person, with the same historical site visits, the same charity lunches, the same touristy gift shops, and the same G Adventures tour leader (I don't think he ever mentioned National Geographic). It did have slightly better accommodations, but on the level of about $200 more per person for the tour. The Landmark Hotel in Amman and Crown in the Dead Sea were decent, Moon Hotel in Petra passable, but the Wadi Rum desert camp and 4x4 vehicles were dismal. The Rahayeb Desert Camp was located inside a rock formation with no views of the desert, the tents were densely packed with no view of any kind, there was sewage smell in the tent and parts of the compound, and for dinner more than a 150 people were waiting in line for a small buffet. The 4x4 trucks used for the Wadi Rum tour were some of the oldest and crappiest in the desert -- other tourists were being driven in late model Land Cruisers. I had a good impression after doing G Adventures' Trans Butan Trail tour, but I have now lost all confidence in G Adventures, and National Geographic. I paid more than $2000 extra for the two of us for nothing but a name.

Never used G Adventures before but we went on a catamaran trip around Phang Nga Bay and the Andaman sea in Thailand.

The booking process was easy and we had an amazing trip, one of our best, with an incredible crew. A, Arm, Chet and Bird deserve a good pat on the back for a job well done.

We will definitely use G Adventures again.

This was our 2nd trip with G and it didn’t disappoint. We did a 30 days Southeast Asia with some friends and loved everything about the trip. The CEOs are amazing. We saw and experienced so much. Anyone looking to see Southeast Asia should book with G Adventures. I love how there is a max 16 people in the group.

The SE Asia Encompassed tour was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and provided a mix of accommodations with some "nicer" hotels varied with a village Home Stay, sleeper trains and a night aboard a junk boat. The guides provided excellent support organising a wide range of activities for us and looking after our group wonderfully. Definitely recommend!

Mainly posting this so no other POC get scammed by this company, yes it IS as audaciously catering to the white gaze as you're worried about!

SE Asia Trip highlights:

- The tour bus route went out of its way to make a pit stop at an isolated, mostly dirt lot in Cambodia where children were working, presenting us tarantulas to hold for a dollar. The activity was eating jerkied insects, which if so desired, could have been done the day before at the huge night market in Phnom Penh that the hotel was right next to. (But then that'd mean interacting with Cambodian people like they are people with their own joyful lives.)

- The 4hr bus round-trip, that ended up being 7hrs with traffic, for a 1-2hr excursion at the Mekong Delta where the tour guide told us she loved us all and sent us off by exclaiming "Me love you long time!" The entire group was so moved that even the white people stopped signing up for optional activities, so that could remain as our lasting memory. (-:

- I find it really awkward when I have to ask for the staff to get rid of the chopsticks when I dine in Vietnam. Luckily the cruise was culturally sensitive enough to serve us Viet-adjacent cuisine without any hassle of chopsticks.

- I had mistaken the "traditional cyclo tour" for a bicycle tour and decided to opt-out since I wasn't properly prepared to ride a rickshaw. No complaints though, since I got to rest at the hotel. My hotel room in Phnom Pehn gave me the perfect aerial view of the group kindly employing local elders to pedal them around. I was thoroughly impressed by how the company was able to source some of the last remaining rickshaws in the city. I really felt like I missed out when I could only Grab auto-tuktuks for less than a dollar on the app for my entire stay. ):

- Shout out to when my travel companion and I decided to leave the planned tour activity to go to a place we independently found on Google maps, to then run into our tour guide there. This happened more than once, solving the mystery of where he disappears to when we are bused off to tourist traps with traditionally inedible food. Loved his sense of humor, especially when he relentlessly told us about how Cambodian people steal.

My First Adventure in Asia Was Amazing

This was my first experience with the service and my initial trip to Asia. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, our guide, and the group. I met some wonderful people from around the globe. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to see a lot while still having free time for personal activities. Our guide was very helpful, informative, and had a fantastic sense of humor. You would be fortunate to have him as your guide. He provided us with a wonderful insight into the culture.
