This has been my ride-or-die web blocker for desktops (Mac and Windows) for the last 3+ years.
Nothing compares to Cold Turkey. It is simple to set up, has endless profile options, and is extremely strict when you need it to be.
One time purchase price for life is unheard of in the modern SaaS world, a breath of fresh air. It is well worth the fee to have password blocking (the safest method IMO if you have an accountable partner/friend).
Also, a side note: I cannot believe how many negative reviews there are on here. These users are likely to be creating their own problems and then blaming the software. Yes, this is an extremely effective blocking tool. If you use it, you may block yourself more strictly than you anticipated. The stricter it is, the more effective it is, and thus the more careful you need to be. This is the software working as it should.

I finally found a site blocker that actually works and doesn't feel like a total headache to use. The is the best writing app I've found to overcome procrastination. Each day I kept checking my e-mail or watched another YouTube video, postponing my writing more and more. I never hit my daily word count and kept coming up with excuses and promises like "I'll do it tomorrow." (I wouldn't)Long story short, ever since I started using the app, my daily word count went from 500 words to 1800 words. I think that's all I need to say for how effective the app is.Greatly recommended!
I started a block on a Chrome website for 7 days adn for this whole period a could not acess chrome for some unknpown reason, this stopped me from doing work, and impacted me in a very negative way you cannot safely cancel a block on this app strongly do not recoment it it is like a virus on your laptop.
I'm using an M4 Mac Mini with a 2TB SSD and 16mb of memory. My browser is Safari.Yesterday, I installed and set up Blocker only to stop myself from watching YouTube from 0630 to 1830h on weekdays. I set the security to stop me from changing the settings in any way to prevent myself from cheating.It did block YouTube completely.However, I started to get odd things happening immediately."Not Connected to the Internet" kept flashing up constantly.Websites took ages to load. I do mean ages. In fact, my computer became unusable.I uninstalled Blocker this morning, just to be sure it was the software that is causing my problems.I will test for today and update this later to be fair to the developer.
This is the first blocker app on my laptop that I actually can't get around in a moment of weakness... and it's free, has no ads, and is SO easy to set up! It's incredible, and I highly recomend. I just wish it was possible to have the same thing on my phone...
