I was fortunate my GLG consulting profile get an added 'interview' segment created. A GLG Senior Team Manager gave me a clear understanding of the process and asked my permission. She then shared topics for the interview, giving me the opportunity to amend those of which I could not contribute.The ~1hr interview covered ~15 topics and went very well. The transcript was shared with me to provide any technical amendments to what was captured.Overall it was a fun and interesting exercise which shows how GLG invests to market their consultants.
I love these consultation calls because they give me a place where my real-world experience is the product, not filtered through sales politics or vendor messaging. I can speak honestly about how things actually work; the broken handoffs, bad assumptions, margin leakage, and presales blind spots. And it’s energizing to be treated like a strategic peer instead of just another quota-carrying engineer.
I had a very fruitful conversation with a representative of an investor wishing to set up a tourism free-zone in Madagascar. The exchange was very interesting for me particularly, by the fact it allowed me to share my knowledge and vision on how the tourism industry in Madagascar could progress and be expanded based on my visits and participation with different stakeholders during events in Antananarivo recently. I sincerely hope that my contribution has been positively appreciated by my interlocutor.
