Review Time
Like a lot of other people, I didn't notice they snuck in a 30-dollar monthly subscription fee. I was only looking for a single search. The second they charged my card I reached out to them. They told me no refund because I didn't cancel in time? How about not trying to trick people into a subscription they don't want?
In principle ok, but unstable system. Two payments taken, then a subscription with less than clear intensions. The two engine numbers I checked did not come up in there system where they did on others, they failed to response to my email for almost two weeks, and within that clearly stated they weren’t interested in my grievance of the above. Seems like a one person operation with a cash flow problem.
i thought i used it once for 1095 for review on car. then=m they charged my credit card 29.95 which i did not approve. i have an email i cancelled by company and this charge still posted to my account.
Goodcar ran a report that was very old...15 years old. Did not have current inspections, current vehicle maintenance records and said vehicle had not been in any accidents, when actually it was in an accident several months ago. Don't waste your money, no matter how inexpensive. You. get what you pay for and with Goodcar, you get nothings.
Deceptive billing practices. I only wanted a single report for one vehicle. They began charging $30 monthly after the 'trial' period without clear notice. Despite canceling the 'subscription' multiple times, they continue to attempt to charge my card. They assert that their confirmation email makes the subscription clear, but it’s not obvious at all and isn’t part of the checkout process. It seems their strategy is to collect a few payments before the customer realizes and cancels. Untrustworthy, and they are aware of it. I suspect many of the positive reviews are fabricated, aside from those addressing the ongoing billing issues... It's difficult to trust that their information is thorough and accurate when they employ misleading tactics to charge customers, hoping they remain unaware.
The platform encourages users to sign up by displaying "records" of vehicles. After registration and payment, you may find a message stating: Your vehicle was not found. THEY SIMPLY LURE YOU INTO PAYING without actually having any information about your car. It's a scam.
I had a terrible experience with customer service, as I never signed up for a monthly subscription, yet I was charged around 30 dollars for no reason. When I reached out for help, the representatives were unprofessional, stating that since I had already been charged, they couldn't process a refund. They could take notes from other companies on how to better support their customers. I strongly advise others to be cautious, as this could mean losing your hard-earned money.
They are deceiving users. They initially charge $1 for a 7-day period but conceal in the fine print that a $29 charge will follow after this trial. When I purchased their service, I believed it was a one-time fee, as it wasn’t clearly stated that it was a trial with subsequent billing. They obscure this information within the terms and conditions, which feels unethical, even if they could legally defend it due to the fine print. From the company's response, it's clear they obscure charges during the checkout process. It’s unacceptable to hide such significant information in fine print. While they may win disputes legally, they certainly fail in terms of ethical standards. This is typical of scammers: hiding critical details while maintaining a façade of legality.
