Review Time
I found an ambulance for sale on EBay. The listing stated several issues including that the rear air bags had deflated. When asked if it was drivable the seller said it was, so I placed a bid and won. I then took out Green Flag Mayday with personal cover (because I intended to convert the van to campervan) and wanted cover should I have any problems driving it 170 miles home.
When I went to collect it 3 days later it was obvious that it could be driven, but certainly wouldn’t survive a 170 mile drive, so I called Green Flag and explained the exact situation. After checking my details I was initially told they would transport it home for me. A while later I was called by a lady from Green Flag wanting to know more. I explained…. Bought on eBay, was told it was drivable and discovered it isn’t, so I”m stuck 170 miles from home. I was asked to standby while some checks were made. The lady rang back and read back the sellers description from the EBay listing which mentioned the air bag problem. She concluded that I knew the van had the issue when I took out the policy and cancelled the request for help. That was brutal, and amounted to an accusation of dishonesty. Maybe I hadn’t even read the full description, she didn’t know that and ignore the fact I had been told it was drivable. It left me feeling like I was trying to cheat the system even though I had been completely honest about the situation. It was not my intention to get a free recovery and fully intended to drive it home based upon the sellers assurances and only took out cover in case of a breakdown en route. No sympathy whatsoever, not even an offer to send someone to see if it could be made drivable. Having checked the small print it specifies that the vehicle being covered must be serviceable when cover is taken out. As far as I was concerned it was, but they decided it wasn’t. Beware… as with all insurances they will find a way to avoid paying out.
Luckily I had RAC personal cover and they sorted it, no quibble whatsoever,
I had a great experience with Green Flag at a recent breakdown. The App was easy to use and very quickly I had a technician booked. The technician arrived significantly before the advised time. He was very friendly and helpful. The problem was resolved quickly and the technician took time to explain how the problem arose and how to prevent it arising in future.
I used to be with Green Flag and wish I never left them as they were brilliant. I decided to go back to Green Flag after I had a less than satisfactory experience with my current break down company. I called today because I could not work out the website to buy cover starting when my current one expires. I have lung cancer & my breathing is not what it used to be which impacted my voice & the speed I can talk. The young lady on the phone was patient & understanding. She slowed down & gave me time to get my breath to talk. Brilliant customer service & to top it off, I was very pleased with the price. I am sure & based on previous years experience, Green Flag will deliver the goods.
My car suffered clutch failure on a short holiday trip. Whenever I contacted Green Flag they responded with excellent service which I could not praise more highly.They arranged for the vehicle to be transported to my local garage approximately 120 miles away and arranged transport home for my wife and I. At all times they kept me fully informed. Excellent first class service which surpassed my own expectations.
Despite a long wait, the technician who attended my breakdown was superb.
Professional to his fingertips, he was extremely solicitous about my welfare and my needs. I could not have asked for better.

I have to add that the technician asked Control if he might take my car to a nearby garage and then bring me home, both are short distances, but was told he could only do one or the other which I found rather unfair and unaccommodating
Fabulous service. Half the price of other breakdown services. Excellent booking of the time slot on the app. Great communication. Refreshing to have such good service.
When I required assistance it was immediately acted upon and I was kept up to date with the time the engineer could be expected to arrive. I was impressed by the professionalism and explanatory explanation by him and his attitude towards a 94 year old senior citizen.

I got a flat tyre whilst at work. I got told originally it was going to be a 2 hour wait, I then got a phone call to say it could be up to a 5 hour delay and I could be waiting until 11pm. Female alone in a car park whilst work was shut.
I ended up abandoning the car and a technician came the following day. Bruno was brilliant as he went above and beyond.
I was with RAC and came to green flag 80 percent cheaper.however I was amazed with friendlyness and quick service.
I waited only 2 hrs. 1st hour was enginer came and 2nd hour car was on the flat bed. Amazing. I defo recomend it. Dont west your money . Best deal I ever made.
