It is hard to believe that the culinary team who earned such high accolades would ever allow their name to be attached to something this poorly executed.Where is the Spice?A Rogan Josh should be a celebration of aromatics—Kashmiri chili, fennel, and ginger. Instead, this sauce is shockingly tasteless. There is no "subtle spice" to speak of; the complexity you’d expect from a premium product is entirely absent. It lacks the deep, slow-cooked "bhuna" richness that defines this classic dish, leaving you with a base that feels thin and uninspired.The "Vinegar" PunchThe most offensive part of the experience, however, is the acidity. The only discernable flavor profile is an overwhelming, sharp vinegary note that cuts through everything else. Rather than a balanced, savory curry, you are left with a dish that tastes more like a harsh preservation liquid than a luxury meal.The Verdict"Absolutely awful" is the only way to describe it. To charge a premium price for a product that fails to meet even basic supermarket standards—let alone Michelin-starred ones—is a massive letdown. If you value your ingredients and your evening, steer clear. This is brand-licensing at its worst.
We ordered from here from the pre made jar menu. I have to say I’ve had better from Waitrose. Thoroughly disappointed. The vindaloo was thick, dark and mild. My husband thought the butter masala was ok…but he really so disappointed with the sauces. Would never order again.
