The sauces have an odd flavour....not a particularly nice flavour......the butter masala is probably the best flavour but leaves a puddle of water on the plate once added to the rice......the chutneys are nothing near as nice as you would recieve in even an average restraunt and spoiled my popadoms......i will actually throw those away.......all together for the extortionate price and lack of jar size i will definatly be sticking with uncle bens
We use Gymkhana sauces, marinades and chutneys all the time. We particularly like the butter masala and tikka masala but the other sauces are great too. The classic tandoori marinade is amazing in combination with the sauces and it’s so quick and simple to make a curry. Additionally the peanut and sesame chutney is a knockout! We are planning a visit to the restaurant in July, can’t wait.
These sauces and marinades are truly amazing! I’m normally a 100% cook from scratch person, but I’m finding these days even I need a night off sometimes. These fit the bill perfectly. The flavours are so authentic and balanced and as good as a home made proper curry. Might seem pricey but so worth it as way cheaper (and better) than a take out!
Used the tandoori marinade and the butter masala and the had amazing curry experience for home cooked. However, a few days later I opened a jar of korma and found it to be quite unpleasant, possibly too much saffron in the sauce. But it won’t stop me ordering more.
