Silvertree is the third “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” (😂) medical alert bracelet/necklace I’ve used. The reason I quit the first one was it could only be worn as an unattractive necklace and I didn’t like going out in public wearing it. The second one could be worn as a very pretty necklace or in a cloth pouch bracelet. It was fine except I had to be careful when doing dishes or washing my hands because the cloth material of the bracelet would get wet and the pendant was not waterproof. When I saw Silvertree advertised I thought it might work for my lifestyle and I was right. The inner workings of the alert mechanical stuff is in a bracelet that is made of silicone and looks like sn iPhone type bracelet. I never have to worry about it getting damp from cleaning house or washing my hands and is very comfortable. It blends right in with my arm so well that I often forget that I have it on. The app that you put on your cell phone is easy to set up and has worked for me as I accidentally dropped it once and got calls from all the people on my Silvertree contact list as well as Silvertree alert service. This one is a keeper!
I am an octogenarian with COPD, hypertension and a history of TIA’s so understandable that my daughters, only one of whom lives in the same town as me, let alone the Same state are concerned about my wellbeing. I wear my Silvertree faithfully every day although I do put it on my nightstand at night as I am worried about setting off the alarm accidentally in my sleep.I can attest to the fact that it works well as one morning I accidentally dropped it on the nightstand when trying to put it back in. Red light flashed and it vibrated - unfortunately it took most if the allotted 15 seconds for me to wake up and shut it off. Before I had reached my phone all girls had been notified and I was giving a red faced apology for scaring them. As one daughter put it - “at least we know it works.”
My independently living Father was alone and recently suffered a stroke. He engaged the sos button on his Silvertree Reach watch to call me and the paramedics. I was so happy he did it. The effect of the stroke is he lost his speech. Physically he is now fine and can still care for himself. I feel more confident with him living independently knowing the system works AND he can trigger it himself. My Father’s Silvertree Reach gives me great piece of mind, lowers my own stress knowing that he’s being monitored, and staves off the need to move him to costly assisted living. I don’t know if I could have him live on his own without it.
Battery life is poor charging it every 2 to 3 days. Many false alarms can be seated and goes into alarm mode. Another time throwing ball for my dog went into alarm mode. Tonight took dog out came in took something out of microwave, felt it buzzing/alarm . Turn off showed green which means off. Sitting in living room hear siren from police car? Next thing I know doorbell rings Fireman at door they received call from Silvertree. Fireman very kind, but I was embarassed... False Alarm goes off 3 to 4 times a week. Usually easy to turn off, but turned off tonight showed green which means canceled and Firemen showed up.About month ago fell outside alarm did not go off. Battery was very low like 5-10%, but still should of gone off. Time to look for new system.Time to look for different system!!
Candidly, I never thought I would need this. But after the second fall, I had to admit to myself I had better look into a monitoring service. There are many to choose from. However, many companies have fall protection as an a la carte add-on. Then I found Silvertree. Without hesitation, their customer service, compassion, and quick and courteous responses to questions are absolutely 5 stars. Their commitment to those of us whose lives are sometimes in their hands, made this decision, the right one for me. Thank you, Leeana who treats you like a family member! I hope I never have to push the button on the alert watch. But if I do, I have no doubt I'll be well looked after.
