Flaine was great and there's tons of snow, so hopefully it'll last into the late season. The funny thing is that there's very little snow away from the resort. We took all our own equipment so no idea on hire shops. Flaine is built on 3 distinctly different levels, so I guess it would be best that you hire as near to your accommodation as possible. There's a brilliant app that you can download called Grand Massif which is pretty good. It has an interactive piste map and slope/lift information. In terms of the area, it's split into:1. The Flaine side2. Les Carroz3. Morillon and SamoensWe really enjoyed Les Carroz and Morillon and it was much sunnier on that side, which meant spring snow (great for boarders), however the Flaine side holds snow for longer due to the fact that the bowl holds more snow and it's colder due to the slope aspect and direction. There are some really long lifts (telecabines and chairlifts), but ultimately these are the busiest due to their length. We used these for access and then found quieter local lifts. One run (Cascades) is 14km long and runs from the top of Flaine (2500m) to Sixt (600m). You get a free shuttle bus (every 20 minutes) at the bottom back round to Samoens. It's pretty good, due to the length of it, however it may not retain the snow lower down, that late in the season. It's not an attractive resort (purpose built concrete structures), but it does hold the snow better than most and it's brilliant for beginners and intermediate riders/skiers.Definitely download the app which has webcams and lots of other information on facilities
We came back with a big issue of our making, I thought was going to kill our week’s snowboarding, but Iglu (Dec B-I) came through for us and got us a great deal for a different week. What I saw as a crisis was handled professionally, calmly and with a great result. Bravo. Could not be happier. Thanks
Christian was very helpful with my booking. Managed to find my friends booking information so I could join the group booking.Igluski are always helpful, polite and easy to book holidays with. The only negative I have. I called back to speak with Christian to discuss extra ski carriage and spoke with a very grumpy member of staff. Sounded like I was an inconvenience. I assume he was having a bad day. I asked for my message to be passed on to Christian, so he could call me back when free. I never received a return call and must gather that my message wasn't passed on.
