The teacher I have is amazing. My goal was to find somebody who would speak to me in Hebrew so I could practice my conversational skills and that’s exactly what we do 45 minutes a week Price is extremely reasonable. He’s gentle and kind and non-judgmental and I love my my classes. I recommend italki highly.
If I could rate it lower, I would. I scheduled a class, but they rescheduled it for a different date. When I attempted to reach out, the process was painfully slow, and I was given credit rather than a refund. I recommend using another platform that offers more flexibility.
I have been working as an online language teacher for years and recently decided to apply to teach Croatian on a certain platform. I invested significant effort into creating an appealing profile and video, and initially, everything went well. I attracted my first students and was enjoying the experience. My adult students also appreciated my teaching. However, the support team of the platform has been incredibly unhelpful, rude, and incompetent. Any assistance I required took an excessive amount of time to resolve, often requiring much effort on my part. There is no performance rating for the support team, nor an email address for teachers to file complaints about their services—despite the fact that they take a substantial fee from each lesson. When I finally earned enough for my first money transfer, I discovered that the platform does not support regular transfers via a popular payment service. After numerous exchanges clarifying that it was their fault and not mine, their response was dismissive, essentially telling me to leave their platform. Having received payments from multiple other language platforms without issues, it was shocking to be treated this way. I find their behavior appalling. While I understand that this review may not change anything, I hope it helps fellow teachers who might face similar challenges with this platform.

The last time this occurred was in 2022, and at that time, the support team was helpful in restoring my credits. This led me to believe it wouldn’t happen again. Failing to notify users before removing paid credits is unacceptable. These are real funds, and losing them without any prior notice feels unfair and disrespectful to customers.

This instructor is very respectful, accommodating, and attuned to my goals for learning Luganda. She organizes her lessons at a pace that suits me well. With a charming personality and a great sense of humor, she maintains a very professional approach to teaching. Beyond just the language, she offers insights into the culture and lifestyle. I highly recommend her if you're looking to deepen your understanding of Luganda and Ugandan life.
In general, I love this platform. There’s no reason not to learn a new language! My only issue is how much it has changed since I first discovered it a decade ago. Initially, it was more about connecting with others for language exchange. While I appreciate the focus on tutors finding students, I miss the opportunity to make global friends who share a passion for language learning.
