Review Time
I own a couple of hundred fittings from this brand - none of the internal ones have failed in over five years. Customer service has been inconsistent, and technical support can be elusive. I've received different drivers for the same fitting in one order, which is frustrating at this price point. The quality of light and control is high, but some designs, like the bathroom series, are subpar. While I appreciate the reliable garden range, the overall engineering standard could improve compared to other brands. There's a lot to like, but be cautious if you're a retail buyer.
Awful service. Product availability and delivery an issue throughout the project. No follow through - contacts do not respond to emails, and are impossible to reach by phone most of the time. Snagging dragging on for months; visibly no interest beyond selling products.
I have worked with John Cullen as an Interior Designer on several residential projects. Each time, I have received exceptional product knowledge and advice. Most notably, the company has been proactive in helping resolve any issues or queries throughout the process, ensuring a brilliant result in the end.
I have done garden with their external lights. There was about 120 light fittings with great potential to expand. We used most of the models they had by the time. On of the models Luca were expose internal moisture even before the fittings were connected. I was trying to solve the problem within warranty time but they refused liability and said there is a fitter fault and moisture is delivered to the light fitting by the wire. Shocking as the connections are done in gell filled junction boxes. Any other models are fine and no moisture problem and they are fitted same way. After warranty time I decided to repair them myself and concluded that the design is good and very detailed but factory assembling is really poor and most of the moisture was delivered by the glass joint at the top of the light fitting (they used silicon and aplication was very poor), the joints are not tight enough and the seal at the wire entrance is cracking or not attached either wire or alloy case. Thay also not selling parts and only ofering repair service but that is not a big problem as everything is available from other suppliers and even better quality for much less. Ie led module made of Osram led cost £6 when JC light fitting cost £200 each. Reasembling light fitting is max 30min time. Even they are having good design I will never buy anything from them.

John Cullen lights are very expensive and very poor quality. We spent £13k on their lights, and they are gradually breaking one by one. There is clearly an underlying fault with the polespring lights, ours have been in 3 years (2 yr guarantee) and then they start flashing and then pack up completely. I have contacted their customer services but they wouldnt give me a free replacement and i had to still pay 40% of the full price 10 lights have gone so far, I expect all to go over time as this is what seems to be happening, very poor don't buy. In contrast i put cheap spots in all my children's bedrooms and in a few other rooms and they are fine!!! In addition to them charging me for the replacement lights I have to keep getting an electrician out to replace them. It has just made me so mad as now another 2 lights have started flashing today so i will have to repeat the process again, I wish i had never put them in Very disappointed!!
