A frustrating experience. Avoid at all costs. I purchased a membership and was charged twice. I requested a refund, and they initiated an inquiry through their app. Initially, they claimed there were no duplicate charges, then told me, “We replied to you, check the app.” However, I couldn’t access anything. I noticed a note suggesting I update the app. The original app is gone, so I downloaded their new one. After signing in, I found nothing related to my account—no orders, no complaints, absolutely nothing. It felt like a completely new account had been created. Communication is impossible with them. Just stay away. AVOID.
A horrible company. Definitely stay away. I purchased a membership and was charged twice. I saw a footnote saying to update the app. The app no longer exists, so I downloaded their new app. I signed in, and guess what happened? There is absolutely nothing related to my account—no orders, no complaints, nothing else. It’s as if a brand-new account was created from scratch. Friends, you can never reach them. Stay away. STAY AWAY.
Absolute shambles now since Kami took over. Would not recommend, they now stop you from watching more than 90 seconds without you subscribing. Even though I use an SD card and have been for year when they used to be YI Home. I will be ripping out all 5 cameras and using a reputable product instead.
AVOID AT ALL COSTSBeen using their cameras for years have over a dozen but now almost totally useless unless you sign up for cloud services. Latest trick is to bombard the app with adverts, then have a 90 second viewing window and the feed stops. Total ripoff now.AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Do not recommend. We bought a Kami baby monitor so we could watch our baby and connect their monitor to our google home system. It worked one time, and then after about a month, we noticed that the sound didn’t work. When we contacted Kami, now Yi, they insisted that they never even made a baby monitor and that the only way to get sound was to upgrade to their premium subscription. We have now had the camera for three years and actually had to buy a separate sound baby monitor to hear our child. The app only got slower, increased advertisements and finally, now, they have a limited viewing time. Of our baby monitor. Its completely useless as a baby monitor and completely useless as a security camera. I don’t even think their premium version would be worth it as their customer service is truly terrible. They don’t help, just try to persuade you to buy more. Would not recommend.
I have had a Kami camera for sometime but will replace it as soon as possible. As others have experienced I was double charged and Kami wanted avoid returning unauthorised bank transactions. The result it cancelled payment cards and a bank investigation.
