I paid the £1.59 for one document I needed. One week later this company took £39.90 without my permission as the start of a monthly subscription that I did not request. The terms of the subscription are hidden through the use of small, gray print - so the unsuspecting customer thinks they're paying a simple document fee but in reality they are signing up to recurring subscription. Stay clear of this company.
Good template but unexpected monthly billing not made clear - overt implication was that it was a one off payment for the document I needed. Once cancelled then cancellation only takes effect from next billing date, even though this is four weeks away. Very disappointing.
I paid £1.59 on 19/01/26 for what was presented as a one-off will template from LawDistrict UK.I did not agree to or authorise any subscription or recurring payment. Despite this, a further £34.90 was taken from my card on 26/01/26 without my consent.When I logged into my account, the only document visible was the original free will template. There was no clear subscription shown and no additional service corresponding to this charge.For clarity, I have screenshots of my account and transaction history showing this, in case there is any later dispute or change.The matter has been raised with my card provider, who has treated the charge as unauthorised and blocked my card as a precaution. I have also since been informed that the merchant is Spain-based, which was not made clear at the point of purchase.I would advise others to check their card statements carefully after making any payment.-----------------UPDATE--------------------**** Further to LawDistrict reply 04/02/26***Their flippant reply shows absolutely that this is a form of scam When logged in it shows the account as "7 day access at 1.59GBP" and has an OPTION of premium access at 39.90GBP which is clearly shown as not subscribed but as a option I bring to attention that although LawDistrict think they are being clever with their reply about small print and further subscription if not cancelled that this is tosh as although premium is 39.90GBPon website they have charged 34.90GBPI have had this successfully charged back through Barclaycard as this is a known issue with companies that portray themselves as UK based but are registered out of the country believing they are exempt from UK laws and regulations .. which in itself is a false belief when companies operate in this manner YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
