I also fell for the glossy marketing and 5 stars reviews! The hat arrived in a cheap parcel bag with no other packaging or receipt - clearly from China! The hat itself looks nothing like the pictures - it’s flimsy and think material that looks terrible on. The website and images are misleading - you’ll get a flimsy, shapeless, cheap hat chucked in a parcel bag with a barcode sticker stuck on the peak. Worth about £2. About as far from a premium product as you can expect.
I had a shipping problem and my hats never showed up. I reached out after realizing this and they responded immediately via email. They have shipped a replacement order and elected a rush shipment to make up for the problem. Great customer service and support. Hopefully I see those hats soon! Thank you.
I needed a cotton hat that's bigger than average. I have a huge head like a beachball, so hats don't usually fit great. Other companies say they will fit a larger head, but only by adjusting the band while the dome sits on top looking like a beanie. The Lift Down hat was not only comfortable and looked good, but the fit is really nice. So if you have a giant melon like me, Lift Down might be able to give you what you need.
I was looking at hats, so I got this FB ad for Lift Down hats. I went to look at reviews and noticed a bunch of them were one star because the hats were made in China. I am a huge fan of China, and have had many good experiences ordering from there. So I order this hat and it arrives in four days. I ordered an oversized hat on purpose and it's perfect. It adjusts really well. The hat is of good material for the price. The color is very nice.
If I'd known these were coming from China I wouldn't have purchased. Not clear whether Lift Down are merely drop-shippers.I've nothing against buying from China, just against the likely quality of textiles, returns practicality, and deviousness of suppliers claiming to be in the US and to have an EU location.
The website is clearly meant to deceive the customer as to the origins of the company. I'd have never ordered had I known it was shipped from China, and I will be asking for my money back or issuing a chargeback. You will not deceive me and get away with it. Update - if your goal is to make high-quality caps, you have failed spectacularly. I have never seen a more poorly made cap in all my life. You're just dropshippers who blag people with the shipping costs being the reason you ship from China. You never specify this at any point, though, of course.I will be processing a refund and I expect you to cover all costs, as I will not be paying to return it to China or the US... if you do not sort this out I will be processing a charge-back with my bank for fraud.
I’ve been looking for a new hat since Carhartt outsourced production of their baseball caps. I had been wearing a Carhartt ball cap since 1996, and the quality had fallen off compared to their USA made line. While I knew that the cotton material wouldn’t be the same as the duck material Carhartt uses, the fit and finish of this hat is just bad. The sweat band is the cheap polyester material that you see on trucker caps, the stitching isn’t even straight. The ends aren’t finished, so they’ll unravel, and the cotton edge is left loose in the cap, also to unravel. On top of that, the clasp at the back slips and the hat loosens up as you wear it.It’s made in China at a lower end US made price. The Vietnamese made Carhartt is made much more durably than this hat at a lower price. I got duped by the advertising, that’s on me. Hopefully y’all can learn from it.
Hat arrived relatively quickly but upon arrival it felt of fairly poor quality and colour didn't appear like in the image. Additionally the hem around the base of the head shape was folding out and the general shape of the hat didn't seem like that of any other baseball cap I've worn, very square. Trying to get a return from the UK you'll have to pay out of pocket for the postage to the US which is 2/3 of the cost of the hat. They make the returns process deliberately difficult (all via email, very outdated). Overall, very disappointed.
