First time I've bought any Loake products as I've been a Barker,Cheaney and Jeffrey West purchaser for a while.The 1880 line is superb - loafers, the imported trainers were also very well made.I returned some grain chukka boots due to a size issues.The returns process is seamless, free and quick.Well done Loake.
Below is an email that I sent to Loake Customer Services earlier in the week. Regrettably their inbox was full so the email never arrived. Good Afternoon,Thank you for your email regarding the above.At the outset I must say that I am extremely disappointed by your response to the problem that I have experienced with my new Loake boots. Your position, right from the off, was that this was nothing to do with the Company or the product, but rather it was entirely my fault.... "it was your choice of cleaning product...", or more latterly "you must have spilled something on them". Given that I have only worn the boots four or five times whilst walking in Berwick, I would be interested to know what products you think I would have been exposed to which would have caused the problem. Similarly, given your assertion, I can only conclude that the finish on the boots is so delicate as to actually be unserviceable.In conclusion, your attitude has been such that I no longer wish to have any further association with Loake, even re your offer of a boot "spruce". This is a shame given the number of pairs of your shoes and boots that I have bought over the years, but I have no desire to give my custom to a Company that holds its customers in such low regard.And below is their response.Good afternoon,We did experience some technical issues last week, and I’m pleased to confirm this has now been fully resolved and we have received your emails. I’m sorry that our assessment hasn’t aligned with your expectations. We reviewed the photographs and information with care, and our conclusion reflects that leather does not develop isolated areas of discolouration without encountering an external substance, even when the source may not be immediately apparent. Our aim is always to provide a fair and informed evaluation based on the condition presented. You have confirmed you do not wish to proceed with the complimentary spruce-up, and of course we respect that. We sincerely hope you find a shoemaker whose approach and standards resonate more closely with what you’re looking for in the future.An interesting response
Easy to order, quick delivery through the post and the quality of the product is great. Unfortunately the fit wasn't quite right for me so I've returned them but again this was very easy with a pre-printed label and easy instructions. I'll be doing business with Loake again!
