Review Time
I’ve been wearing Loake boots for years, previously finding them to be very high quality and built to last. However, I bought a pair of Loake Newbury in black grain just 6 months ago. I look after my boots properly using good quality products to protect them. I noticed after a few weeks that the left boot had become discoloured and so arranged to return them to Loake for ‘assessment’. Apparently I was guilty of having worn them during the British winter and they had got wet (I’d hoped the boots would be more resilient). I struggle to see why one boot would become so discoloured and the other not. Anyway, I took up Loake’s offer to ‘spruce up’ my boots. I was also disappointed in the customer service operation which was slow and required a phone call prompt to get things moving. I will be buying my boots from other manufacturers in future.
I bought a leather hold-all weekend bag. It must have been a couple of years ago, after 4 uses the piping at the base came out of the bottom and Loake exchanged the bag. I’ve had the replacement bag a couple of years but literally used it probably 12 times maximum. The bag looks immaculate because of the lack of use, but the pipelining one of the corners at the base has come out again, exactly the same as the first bag. The quality is truly shocking. The bag looks beautiful but it’s just fallen apart with no use whatsoever. Unfortunately Loake are not interested in helping. I can’t find my receipt I went to the shop that I bought it and they are not interested.After many years a customer, countless shoes and accessories, I won’t be returning. Poor service and terrible quality, such a shame from what was once a good brand.
The Items I received were dirty, marked, different shades and not as shown on the website.Customer service was very good when placing the order. And when issuing a refund for the returned items.I did however have to request additional refund for postage, which Customer Service granted as a goodwill gesture.I questioned via email why this was a goodwill gesture and not an automatic refund considering the unacceptable condition of the items, but received no response.I was disappointed that Loake permitted items in such unacceptable condition to be sold.This is a clear drop in quality from the Loake products I bought previously.
I was in Dubai when I ordered the shoes for delivery the next Day. Unfortunately I made a mistake. I called Locke customer services who immediately rectified my mistake. I arrived in the UK early the following morning. My lovely new British made shoes were delivered at 11am.Fantastic service. Excellent product
