I was contacted in January this year and delivered a full‑day training for Mangates on January 13, 2

I was contacted in January this year and delivered a full‑day training for Mangates on January 13, 2026, on Complete AI Productivity & Ethical Prompting. I also personally paid CAD 18.50 out of pocket to print certificates for their participants, exactly as they requested.

It is now March 4, and I have still not been paid.

What I experienced was a cycle of excuses and shifting deadlines. One day it’s “technical glitches.” The next day it’s “year‑end closure activities.” Every promised date has been missed. Every follow‑up has been met with a new explanation. Meanwhile, I delivered the training professionally, on time, and even covered printing costs myself.

This is not a one‑off delay it’s a pattern of unprofessional and unreliable payment practices. Trainers deserve transparency and respect, not endless runarounds and broken commitments. This is unacceptable.

What makes this worse is their own NDA, which claims:

Payment will be made within 14–21 business days, and
“in case of late payment,” it will not exceed one month from the training date.
If payment is delayed beyond this period, the Trainer may contact mangates support for resolution.

This clause just sets deadlines with no enforcement, no consequences, and no escalation. The only “remedy” they offer is to email support which is exactly what I have been doing for weeks. In practice, this clause allows them to miss every deadline with zero accountability.

If you are a trainer considering working with this company, please take my experience seriously. I strongly discourage signing any agreement with a zero accountability clause like this.

Important training for new leaders

This training is important for new leaders to understand the basic leadership skills. Toba Best was knowledgeable and provided lots of real examples as well as allowing us to contribute with our own experience as leaders. I would highly recommend taking this training to improve your confidence as a leader.

TRAINERS BEWARE - MY EXPERIENCE WITH MANGATES

I want to share my experience with Mangates in hopes of preventing other trainers from going through what I have.Mangates first contacted me to deliver a training session for them back in November. Despite completing the training and submitting the invoice the same day, I did not receive payment until January—and even then, the only reason I was paid is because they wanted me to conduct another training in January. I made it clear that I would not accept the new engagement unless the November payment was resolved. Interestingly enough, I received my payment the next day.Unfortunately, I did not think to check their reviews beforehand. If I had, I would never have agreed to conduct the January 14th session. For the January training, I again completed the invoicing the same day. I was initially told I would receive payment by January 31st. As of today (Feb 10th) I still have not been paid. After following up, I’m now being told the payment might come by February 25. This is completely unacceptable!!!What makes this even more frustrating is that both sessions received five-star feedback and outstanding participant reviews—yet I still haven’t been compensated for my work. I can clearly see those positive reviews displayed on their website, but I’ve received none of the professional respect or timely payment that should accompany them.On top of the payment issues, the experience delivering the January training was extremely unprofessional. The training materials provided to me were poor quality, and the participant guides, despite being part of the course, were not printed when I arrived on-site. When they were finally printed, they were nothing more than loose pages, not even placed in a binder. In preparation to deliver the training, I spent hours aligning the deck with the participant handout to make the session successful. To add insult to injury, the POC reached out to me again last week asking if I could deliver another training on February 19. After everything I’ve experienced, I will NEVER facilitate another training for this company.Trainers, facilitators, consultants be cautious when dealing with this company. They do not respect timelines, the value of our work, or basic professional standards. I hope this helps someone avoid the frustration I’ve had to endure.Update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!After posting this review last night (2/9), emailing the finance department, and messaging the POC on LinkedIn, I received my payment this morning (2/10) for the class I facilitated in January.
