I delivered a professional Public Speaking workshop for Mangates in Berlin on 1 October 2025, under a signed NDA that specified payment within one month. This was my 5th workshop delivered for Mangates since March 2024. The training was delivered as agreed and an invoice was submitted accordingly. However, as of today 1st Feb 2026, 4 months after the workshop, I remain unpaid despite multiple follow-ups. The contractual maximum payment period expired in November 2025. I was then asked to wait until December. Then on 5 December, I was personally assured by senior management that the payment would be completed in January 2026 (later the finance team provided a specific payment date of 26 January 2026), and I was asked to refrain from posting any public feedback. I respected this request and acted in good faith. Unfortunately, that commitment was not honored, I have still not received the payment. This situation represents a clear breach of trust. I have been patient for over four months, accepted multiple revised timelines, and refrained from any public action. However, payment was repeatedly delayed with shifting excuses, including references to cash flow constraints and repeated requests to wait another week, none of which resulted in resolution. Trainers and facilitators should be compensated fairly and in a timely manner after fulfilling their commitments. It is very disappointing that Mangates’ payment practices undermine trust and fall far below acceptable professional standards within the industry. Now I am documenting my experience here factually and transparently, so that others considering work with Mangates can make informed choices. Given my experience across multiple engagements since March 2024, I cannot recommend working with this company as a trainer or facilitator unless payment reliability is clearly ensured in advance.
I recently completed the Assertive Communication training with Lisa Peers. Lisa was incredibly kind, empathetic, and patient, which makes her the perfect person to teach a challenging topic like navigating difficult conversations. The course content, examples, and pace were all excellent. I am very grateful to have had Lisa as a coach.
The workshop did not meet my expectations. The content was repetitive and focused mostly on concepts rather than practical, real-life use. I expected hands-on training and clear examples, especially related to using ChatGPT in actual work settings or in construction industry. The trainer did not provide meaningful instruction on the ChatGPT tool. There were no sufficient demonstrations or opportunities to practice, and the material remained generic. Overall, the session lacked practical value and actionable learning.
The course was originally scheduled to be held in person but was moved online due to the instructor’s illness. While this change was understandable, the virtual format limited opportunities for participant interaction, which would have greatly enriched the learning experience. In addition, the meals included in the registration fee were not provided once the session shifted online. Materials such as the PPT presentation or any handouts could have been shared proactively, allowing participants time to revisit and review the key learnings from the full‑day session.
I feel like I knew 1. what emotional intelligence is and 2. how to apply it to certain situations better than the trainer. She lacked accountability and wasn't really careful with her words. I didn't really gain anything from this training. I believe she should take a training on this topic as well as a sensitivity and mindfulness training.
The trainer herself, Sharron. Was mostly just ranting the whole time and talking about personal matters of the people in her life, something about her friends husband cheating on her so she went on a run and got stabbed in Central Park. I understand when trainers merge the book and their own things in the training, but this was just too far. I'd be open to attending another training with this company just not with Sharron. Sharron speaks about being self-aware but she clearly isn't aware of how she speaks of people and the privilege she has to not "follow politics". She kept talking about her experiences and how everyone was against her, that's not what the training was about. If I wanted to sit around and talk about nonsense for 8 hours, I would've just stayed home.
