Honestly, I have been SO happy with MetLife pet insurance. Reasonable premiums, easy claims, excellent coverage options, and super fast payouts. I've never had to appeal any decisions or fight for what I was paying for. They straight up just do what they say they're going to do and pay what they promise when you sign up. Hopefully I'll be with them for a long time.

Honestly, I have been SO happy with MetLife pet insurance. Reasonable premiums, easy claims, excellent coverage options, and super fast payouts. I've never had to appeal any decisions or fight for what I was paying for. They straight up just do what they say they're going to do and pay what they promise when you sign up. Extremely Disappointed with the Service

I am incredibly let down by the service provider. At first, I believed they were efficient and processed claims promptly. However, during my conversation with a representative from Customer Experience, I received incorrect information regarding their appeal process. My cat, who is blind and experiences anxiety, was denied sedation for multiple invasive lab procedures. I was misinformed that I only needed to sign their appeal form without the vet's signature. Following the guidance given by the representative, I encountered delays with the vet in obtaining the necessary SOAP notes. When I later spoke to another agent, I mentioned I would reach out to the vet for clarification, which I did. Both the agent and the Appeals department were aware of this. Unfortunately, the Appeals department made a decision before I had the chance to provide the vet's clarification, denying my appeal. The vet confirmed that the lab work was indeed invasive and recommended sedation, even for animals without prior anxiety but showing signs of fear or aggression during procedures. I emailed this clarification to a supervisor last week and have yet to receive a response. I did not expect the Appeals department to disregard the fact that one of their agents provided me with incorrect information and to make a decision without waiting for the necessary clarification. Now, they demand that I pay for this clarification in order for them to reconsider my case, with a deadline set for early February 2026. I shouldn't have to bear this cost! The decision was made prematurely, despite my ongoing communication with their supervisors. This situation is unacceptable, and they must improve their approach towards pet owners.

They keep the policy holder informed about recent claims and more. The customer care is excellent, with incredibly polite representatives who genuinely listen to the customer. In today's world, it's rare to find such dedicated service. Keep up the great work!

As a devoted customer—well, my cat is—the service stands out as the best pet insurance in my view. I've consistently received outstanding support and impressive customer care. Payments are processed quickly, and they cover a wide range of needs. I have no complaints whatsoever. I'm extremely happy with them and have suggested their services to all my friends, including the one reading this who is in search of excellent pet insurance and reliable people.

Complaint about billing issues and unresolved overpayment

I am filing this complaint regarding incorrect billing and the lack of resolution for an overpayment concern with the service provider. The provider overcharged and withheld funds totaling $540.24, plus an additional $87.63, despite my premiums being paid through automatic payroll deductions. My payments are deducted directly from my paycheck, and I submitted proof of these deductions after the company incorrectly claimed they had not received a payment since September 24, 2025. This statement is false. I can verify the deductions on my paystubs and the payments reflected in the app. At no point did the company inform me of a missing payment, indicating a failure to communicate a billing issue promptly. I first reached out about this issue on December 4 and was assured it would be resolved within 3 to 5 business days. Over a month has passed with no resolution or meaningful follow-up. On December 5, the company withdrew an additional $540.24 even though the policy had already been settled through payroll deductions. Further prorated withdrawals of over $500 and another charge of over $300 for January 1 were also scheduled, which should not have happened. I canceled my policy solely to prevent further unauthorized withdrawals. The company later stated that canceling the policy complicated the resolution, despite having my payment documentation. I made multiple attempts to address this matter via phone and email and requested to speak with a manager or supervisor but was denied access. I spoke with several representatives, none of whom were able to resolve the issue. Follow-up communications included repetitive questions rather than addressing the documented overpayment. I am seeking a full refund of all overcharged amounts and a correction of the billing records. This experience has severely impacted my trust in the service provider's billing and customer resolution practices.

Caution: Significant Premium Increases in Washington State

Be cautious, as the company providing pet insurance in Washington state has raised premiums by nearly 40%. I held two policies for my young cats, with one policy covering $10,000 at $41 monthly with a $250 deductible and 90% reimbursement. Upon renewal, they increased this to $57. My second policy, originally $20,000 for $53, is now set to rise to $89. This means I will be seeking new pet insurance, as they attribute these hikes to inflation and increased veterinary costs. However, as someone in the animal healthcare field, I can assure you that vet rates have not surged by 40%. They suggested reducing my policy limits for a lower price, which is absurd—paying more for less coverage makes no sense. A slight increase is understandable, but this is excessive. I strongly recommend anyone in Washington state to explore other options until they stabilize their rates. I refuse to lower my deductible or reimbursement percentage while facing such a drastic increase. Their reasoning about veterinary costs seems like an excuse to raise rates for profit. I've encountered misleading statements regarding rate increases, and I foresee a loss of clients due to this approach. Ensure that if you're paying these exorbitant monthly fees, you're visiting the vet enough to recoup your annual costs. Before learning of the 40% increase, I was considering raising my coverage limit to $20,000, with a prior quote of $71. When I called back, they quoted $89, despite having recorded the earlier amount. My initial policy for my cats in August 2025 was $53 for a $20,000 limit, making these hikes seem predatory. I doubt the justification for these premium increases and expect clients to absorb them. Furthermore, the rates I received included a discount for working in the animal healthcare sector, so those without it may face even higher costs. There are alternative pet insurance companies offering unlimited coverage for similar premiums, which I will be exploring. Unless they address these issues, I will not be renewing with them.

Our initial experience with the service has been excellent.

This is our first policy with the service. We have found the communications with the company to be very clear and easy to comprehend. (That’s not always true with other providers!) So far, we feel confident about all our interactions and believe we are well covered and well informed. We are excited to continue our relationship moving forward!
