Visited miller and carted at Harlow today, served by Wendy who went above and beyond enabling my wife to select a suitable meal as unable to eat steak at this time. Ambience and service was excellent, not rushed, a thoroughly enjoyable experience for us both, all thanks to Wendy.
Four of us went for dinner in York and had the most delicious meals. Succulent steaks, fresh grilled trout, and yummy desserts! Our waiter, Fin, could not have been more helpful, courteous, and efficient. Definitely a positive dining experience!
We attended the 3:30 PM Christmas Day event and it was a complete letdown. At £99 per person, it felt like a rip-off; I wouldn’t have paid £10 for the experience. The bread served was stale, and when we raised our concerns, we were told not to expect any better. The turkey was tough and dry, making it nearly impossible to cut. The vegetables were bland and barely warm. The cheese and biscuits were also underwhelming; the biscuits were stale with raisins, lacking any grapes or other accompaniments, and the cheese was served warm. The staff seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. Overall, it was a regrettable choice—save your money, as you will be very disappointed.

We came to celebrate my son’s birthday, but the evening was a disaster. We arrived at 6:10 PM, and by 6:20 PM, a staff member took our drink and food orders. Shortly after, we were told the food order hadn’t gone through and had to repeat it. Our drinks arrived at 6:35 PM, and then we were told that the system was down, requiring us to place our food order a third time, this time on paper. I requested the removal of unused wine glasses, which were never taken, so I removed them myself. We waited a long time, and when my son inquired about our starters, he was told they would arrive soon. They finally came at 7:24 PM, over an hour after we arrived, with no apology. I asked for our main courses to be expedited, and was simply told “OK.” By 7:45 PM, we were still waiting. A staff member acknowledged that the system was still down and that others had been waiting longer than us for their mains. My son eventually expressed that if our mains weren’t ready in 10 minutes, we would leave. At 8:05 PM, we were informed our mains were still not ready and that there was no estimate. I found this unacceptable, and her response was, “It’s not my fault, the system is down.” I explained that as a representative, she needed to take responsibility. The staff were aware of a serious issue but failed to inform us upfront about potential lengthy food delays, not allowing us the option to leave. We never received a genuine apology. I requested her name and was told she was the shift supervisor; the manager was off sick. When I declared we were leaving and wouldn’t pay for our starters and drinks due to the poor service, she simply walked away. There was no apology or attempt to resolve the issue. I tried to find her again but she had completely vanished, so we left. This experience was disappointing, ruining a birthday celebration, highlighting a lack of accountability and professionalism. System issues can happen — but the way staff manage them is crucial. This was managed poorly.

This restaurant is delightful, with all the front-of-house staff and servers being exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their excellent service has made us regular customers, visiting at least twice a month. The team here truly enhances the experience!
I booked a table well in advance for my son's birthday at 7:15 PM. We had planned activities around this dinner, as he had eagerly anticipated it for weeks, specifically choosing this venue. Upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen was behind schedule, resulting in a 45-minute wait to be seated and an additional 45 minutes for our food. The staff apologized with a rehearsed message that felt cold and lacked empathy, showing no concern for the disruption to our evening.
We are currently waiting for a festive meal in the middle of a busy restaurant. It's been over an hour for our main course, and we won't be having dessert due to the long wait. This has happened each time we've visited. The tomato soup was tasty but served in a small portion, while the turkey and stuffing combo was tiny and burnt underneath. If they don’t improve drastically, they may face serious issues. Despite the impressive appearance of the place, our experience was a disappointing and overpriced one, making us unlikely to return.
I had a very disappointing meal at this location. I’ve visited multiple times and it’s usually acceptable, but this time I took two children for their first restaurant experience and was let down. The steak, which was recommended as medium, was so dry it was hard to swallow. The salmon was overcooked, and the green beans were old and inedible. I was very disappointed.
