I have been using MindMyHouse for over 15 years, and I've tried a few others as well. And I can say without a doubt that MindMyHouse is the BEST one; the one I go to first when I am looking for a house-sitter. They are the easiest and friendliest website to use by far! And it's free to use for hosts!
All I want to say is that MindMyHouse is the best, the friendliest, the most human an the most adapted site to our needs. I have been there for many , many years and I wish they would stay as they have always been; Perfect!
We have been house sitters on MindmyHouse for 13 years enjoying numerous sits in Spain, France, Portugal and more recently the UK. Do your own research to insure a good fit and there won't be a problem. We also used the site as owners and also recommend the service to others. I'm surprised how many people don't know about it!
We’ve been using Mind My House now for I’m sure almost 15 years and have always had great house sitting experiences, travelling the world and meeting interesting people and of course, lovely pets. More recently we have also joined as house owners as well as house sitters and regularly use Mind My House to get reliable and kindly people to look after our own dog while we travel and housesit. It is a great platform and I’d thoroughly recommend it (and often do) to anyone interested in starting house and pet sitting or who needs a pet sitter while they travel.

It may not be the most modern in design, but it offers everything you need to navigate the platform smoothly and efficiently.One feature we absolutely love is that Mind My House allows you to transfer reviews from other house-sitting platforms, which means you don’t have to start from scratch — a huge plus for experienced sitters.What really stood out to us was the customer support. It was honestly one of the fastest we’ve ever experienced. We had a few questions, and Alan got back to us within 15 minutes! I just created my new profile on this site, it was approved within 24 hours by very responsive customer service and within 12 hours of listing pending dates I was contacted by 6 promising sitters who were willing to travel internationally and provide references and reviews. It’s an easy to navigate, simple interface with a few basic sections, filling out the profile and uploading a maximum of 10 photos (no separate area for pets) and a brief bio and a few other description boxes I was done within 20 minutes.My listing was approved within 24 hours, and within the first 12 hours of posting dates for a pending trip next March I received a half dozen replies from sitter applicants willing to travel internationally, who are ready and willing to provide extensive references and reviews, many linking back to THS.The fee for hosts is $29 for life. There are no yearly renewal or booking fees. Sitters pay the same but it’s an annual renewal.
I have been a member for almost 20 years. During that time we had some great housesitters. Some have become dear friends and we are still in contact. The site is very informative. Of course you have to do your additional research before you invite people to your house. I would definitively recommend Mindmyhouse to other house owners.
The website feels very outdated and hard to navigate. The search is unclear, the filters are limited, and the whole layout looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. Listings are text-heavy and difficult to read, and even the contact process with the homeowner isn’t intuitive. Overall, it’s an old-school experience that makes using the site frustrating.
